On September 12, I raced the Olympic distance at the #lakenighthorsetriathlon in Durango. For the first time in 19 years of triathlon, I won my age group (F45-49)! This win qualified me to race @usatriathlon #usatnationals2027 in Des Moines Iowa in August… Might have to register for that, because who knows if I’ll ever win my age group again! Thanks for a fun event, @durangotriclub

I found scissors on my run today. They’re nice scissors, so I picked them up. Jeff deadpanned, “You know you can’t run with those.” So, today, I ran with scissors. ✂️

11th time running 26.2 miles, and it was my fastest time yet! Granted, six of the times I’ve run a marathon, it’s been after a 2.4 mile swim and a 112 mile bike ride. Broke 5 hours and came in 4th in the 45-49F AG! 4:53:24!

Peak training week for #ShiprockMarathon 2026! Longest run done, and feeling ready to go out there and beat last year’s PR! Last year in the 45-49 AG, and killing it!

It’s time to take matters into your own hands when you can’t download your pre-paid order of race photos from @finisherpix because they haven’t fixed or even communicated to customers about the glitch that’s making thousands of photos unsearchable in the @ironmantri California gallery. They’re not from the course, but they’re mine. @jenmagphoto

Bike is racked, bags checked in, my Ironfans made signs for me, and all that’s left is a sleep and 140.6 miles of 🏊‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️between me and that 6th finisher medal!

All checked in for Sunday’s race!

Attended the swim strategy talk and the first Athlete Briefing. Shopped for my customary pre-race SWAG, perused the expo, and settled in the hotel, where I portioned and labeled all of my nutrition and packed my race bags.

Tomorrow is the practice swim, bike prep, and the Welcome Ceremony!

T-5 weeks to #ironmancalifornia Did 5 hours on the virtual course on @fulgazapp today with a 20:00 race pace run off the bike. Feeling ready! Three more big workout weeks left, then the taper! Top tier goal: Sub 14:00:00 next goal: new PR (beat my 14:55:28 from Cozumel 2011), next goal: sub 16:00:00, last ditch goal: official finish under the 17:00:00 cutoff.
