Winter in Colorado was one of the worst in history!

Moving up to the U14 ranks was tough… the season was one to forget for many different reasons. Big changes for next which I am excited for! This upcoming season may also be my last year racing. Karting has positioned its self as my number 1 and I am really excited to travel with my family and chase POW with my dad! I have a bucket list of ski resorts I want to go to and racing does not allow much travel.

I want to thank @wpcompcenter and especially KC @skiandbootlab for always supporting me!

Hoping for a big snow year in 26-27!!

Kart season is in full swing and I’ll be reporting on that next! by @isaac_payn

Supernats28… after a long season, we unplugged for a bit. Here is the run down!

This was my first time pulling double duty and it was fun to do both and get more track time! Since it was split into morning and afternoon session it was manageable.

I had reasonable pace in KA and managed to qualify 20/74. I was taken out in the first heat, but managed to pull together a couple ok finishes in the 2nd and 3rd heat. This put me just inside the cut to make the final without racing the LCQ at 33rd. Elbows were out in the heats and final… I struggled with the aggressiveness of the race but managed a clean race finishing 25th.

Practice in X30 jr was aggressive, making it hard to get clean laps. I ended up in the slow group for qualifying and then got held up on what would have been my fast lap. This put us 41/59 in quali, which is less than ideal. There was a fair amount of carnage in the first 2 heats and I managed 2 top 10’s mostly by keeping my nose clean. The 3rd heat was in the rain… I like the rain and usually do well, but couldn’t find my groove finishing near last. Somehow, I managed to make it straight to the main starting in 29th! The start of the final was a mess… guys don’t understand how to manage the start. Using the guys in front of you as a brake is a rookie move. I got slammed into the guy in front of me by the guys behind not lifting/braking for the first turn. They then continued to run me over, hurting my hand and ending my race. Not happy. 🤬

Overall… it was a good weekend and end to my rookie year in junior. This race was like no other I’ve been in… the defending and aggressiveness was crazy. I feel I learned a lot and hope to apply it next year! Ski season is in full swing, but have already tested in Tampa and am looking forward to next year.

Big thanks to @joshhotzdriverdevelopment and @cameronweinberg_official for the support and coaching. Engines ran flawless thanks to @tapracingengines and @speedlabracingengines !

Next up is @superkartsusa Wintertour rounds 3/4 @speedsportzracingpark in Feb!

My experiences at @rokcupusa ROK Vegas have not been great, but this past weekend was a step in the right direction and good prep for @superkartsusa Supernats!! Racing barrier tracks can be tough and this is alway a good warm up. I bounced around mid pack most of the weekend. Happy hour put us at the front of the slow group for qualifying and guys ā€œracingā€ frustrated me, so I pulled in early. This cost me some spots but ultimately everyone in the slow group was out qualified by the fast group, so it was only a few spots over all. I started the heats in 18th. The first heat I was hit and spun sideways into another kart half way in the race while in ~12th and then ran a solo effort to finish 19th. Heat 2, I was in a mid pack group but struggled to move forward and finished 16th. I had a good run in heat 3 progressing to 13th. I was prepared to be in the LCQ, but actually managed 29th (top 30 make it straight to the final). This locked me in for the final. I was set to advance my start position for the final in the prefinal, but a wreck in front of me in turn 1 brought me to a stop. I got rolling again and drove solo to finish 26th. Learning from the prefinal, I avoided the wreck in turn 1 and battled my way to P12 in the final! This is my best National KA jr result. The pieces are starting to fall in place… hopefully we can have a good showing at Supernats next week!!

Big thanks to my team @joshhotzdriverdevelopment and @adesraracing for the assist with the @p1enginesinc engine!

I’ll be doing the double at Supernats… it will be my first time doubling up! (KA jr and X30 jr) I’m excited and nervous!!

Race weekend 2 @k1circuit for ProKart started off well as we were consistently one of the fastest karts on track in all the practices. Qualifying went ok, but got held up on what would have been my fast lap putting me in 8th for the prefinal.

The outside on this track is rough, as the starts are too fast and people don’t seem to understand the physics of braking into that corner in a 10+ kart line at near full speed. It’s one of the Achilles heels of this track as there are always messy starts that ultimately affect the outcome of the races. My dad talked to the officials about slowing the start by moving the acceleration cone, which they did… but the guys in the front didn’t follow it and it caused the typical pile up. I got slammed into by the inside line at the corner, bending my axle and causing my chain to come off. šŸ™„

Starting the final in 24, had its challenges, but I was optimistic as I knew I had pace and it was a long race. The start was a little better up front, but someone spun and got their bumper knocked off. I avoided it, but it gapped me off the main group. I then had to avoid another wreck, pushing me a little farther back. On lap 4 (after going purple), a couple guys got together and @x_malatesta_racing almost grip flipped… during this incident, someone slammed into my rear bending my axle. I pushed hard the rest of the race being shaken (not stirred) running quick times, but only to get back to P15. The engine noise was entertaining as the bent axle added a secondary frequency to it. Disappointing weekend, but all good prep for the Vegas races in a few weeks.

Huge congrats to Wes Witt on his P2 finish!!

Thanks to @formula_works for the support and @ryan.norberg and @jakedrew29 for the coaching!

It was fun to run a different chassis, the @gfckarting chassis worked well! If you get an opportunity to test on one, do it!

Everyone said K1 is a HP or dyno track… both of our @tapracingengines shined the last 2 weeks!

Time to regroup before heading to Vegas in a week!

We have been wanting to run at K1 since it opened! Looking at the schedule, we saw an opportunity to get some solid race practice in and also run 2 different configurations of the track. @ikfkarting grands ran a shortened course and then Prokart is running the full pro loop.

We partnered with @formula_works for this race and were excited to try the @gfckarting chassis. I picked up the track quick and put down some solid laps in practice. We were top 5 in the official practices and qualified 5th without a clean lap. I finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the first 2 heats, but got pushed wide on the 3rd heat and fell back to 13th. This put us P4 for the start of the final. After a good start and running in the top 5, I was drove down on shuffling me back to 11th just before the half way mark. I put my head down and picked guys off one by one till I found myself P2 for the last lap, but didn’t have a clean opportunity to pass finishing P2. Congrats to @matthew_cagle_racing on the win and @_ska_racing on the pole!

One factor in deciding to do this race is that my family can come watch. I love that my Grandparents drove 2 hours to come see me race. It means a lot to me to have their support!

Big thanks to @formula_works for the support and @jakedrew29 for the coaching!!

Power was on point thanks to @tapracingengines !

We have been wanting to go to @cupkarts_northamerica Grands for a few years and we made it this year! After a good showing at Cinci, we teamed up with @stehlemotorsports and bought a new Stealth (@birel_art )kart and ran the same @lawsonspeedshop engine to do battle against the 83 kart Junior field. We had great pace and were top 10 in all the practices. When happy hour came, we struggled to get a lap as the group kept racing and held us up finishing 36th. This put us in the second group for qualifying. They gap us, so we were mostly on our own and put down a fast lap that held up for most of the fast group, but ultimately dropped to 9th in the end. We finished the first heat in 7th, but in the second heat I stuck my nose in where I shouldn’t have in the second corner for a self inflicted DNF. Dad was not happy… In heat 3, I started 21st, but the kart was just not working well, so I couldn’t make up any spots. Come to find out when I hit the wall the rear bumper bracket was slightly bent and bound up the rear of the kart. Starting the final in 35th was going to be a tall order. We fixed the kart and also made a change that finally had it feeling like I like. The kart was flying in warmup! The start of the race went our way and we quickly were running 19th and moving up. On the last lap I was battling for 10th when two guys got together 3 corners from the end spinning me and a friend of mine into the grass. Unfortunately, I was backwards and by the time I got on track and moving I lost a lot of spots and finished 30th. Not the finish we wanted… but the pain was self inflicted.

Big thanks to @stehlemotorsports , @lawsonspeedshop , @henry_wheeler_racing and the rest of the team for all the help making it a fun weekend. We will definitely be back!

We are headed to @k1circuit in california for the @ikfkarting grands and then @superkartsusa Prokart series’s with @formula_works .

The first pic sums up how the final @starschampionshipseries race weekend ended @trackhousemotorplex Night Fight. We had a lot of speed in practice, but didn’t get a draft in qualifying and qualified P13. Heat 1 we had a good race and finished P6. Heat 2 we were running P6 and the kart in front of us spun sideways in turn 8 bringing us to a stop finishing P17. In the prefinal, we were working our way up when a kart drove into the side of us and popped us up. We drove around on our own and finishing 26th. In the final, guys at the front tried to win the race in the 4th corner of the race, causing a huge pile up ending our race before it really started.

We don’t talk about or blame things on bad luck as most situations can be avoided with better decisions. This weekend may be the exception. We were dealt a bad hand that was out of our control. All we can do is regroup and be ready for the next race.

Thanks to @joshhotzdriverdevelopment for all the support and coaching and @tapracingengines for the hp!
