The Standard of Excellence⭐️You have the choice to be the best you can be, or not. It’s one of the beauties of life - the power to choose!👉🏽 When you hold yourself to a high standard, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says, thinks, or believes about you because you KNOW that excellence is your standard-> am I holding myself to a standard of excellence?-> how can I make progress today?-> which choice/option is the best for me right now?Constantly thinking and adjusting on how to be the best version of YOU, you can be💡IPT, Sacramento Baseball Trainer | Isaiah Parker Training Diamond Edge Athletic PerformanceFitness Rangers @isaiahparkertraining #ipt #baseballlessons #lifewisdom #excellence by @isaiahparkertraining

“The player who shows up to practice focused will always progress more than the player who is not focused.”💡————————Here is a 5 step roadmap on how to be a better hitter⬇️Step 1: Master the Tee: Inside, outside, high, low, middle, driving the baseball where it’s supposed to go consistently on the barrel with a balanced and consistent finish.Step 2: Master Front Toss: Same process, now it introduces a level of timing and rhythm. Consistent line drives to right field on command. Left field on command. Fly ball on command. Ground ball on command. Etc.Step 3: Master Overhand Batting Practice Fastballs: you can do this with wiffle balls at home and I actually recommend it because it’s cheap and convenient. Same things you executed in steps 1 and 2 must now be mastered on overhand.Step 4: Master Overhand Curveballs and Fastballs Mixed: this now challenges everything you’ve learned because it forces you to be in a position to hit both the fastball and the off speed.Step 5 (optional): Master Pitching Machine: please do not use the pitching machine if you cannot hit 5 line drives off of front toss in a row. You are going to do more harm than good.——————————Congratulations! After you’ve mastered these 5 steps, you can now reasonably expect to be a very competitive .300+ hitter at most levels of the game. But now you now have to execute it in game which is where mindset comes in.📝 Remember, hitting is hard. But it becomes easier if you can simplify and take focused repetitions. It takes a lot of focused repetitions to be good at this very very challenging task of hitting. But if you want it bad enough, you’ll keep going.———————————Happy 250th anniversary to the greatest country in the world! Drop a “🇺🇸” in the comments if you read this far😄 by @isaiahparkertraining

There are 2 physics principles at play here: Bernoulli’s Principle: States that as the speed of a fluid (or air) increases, the pressure within it decreases.💡ie. The faster the spin, the greater the pressure difference The Magnus Force: When a baseball spins, the rotation drags surrounding air along with it. On one side of the ball, the drag moves in the same direction as the oncoming airflow, speeding it up. On the opposite side, the drag moves against the oncoming air, slowing it down.💡 The more seams, the more drag. Causing the airflow to speed up. Pressure Difference: According to Bernoulli’s principle, the fast-moving air creates a zone of low pressure, while the slow-moving air creates a zone of high pressure. The ball is then pushed toward the area of low pressure. In our case of a 4 seam grip, up. ✅ The 4 seam with an efficient spin axis catches more seams causing greater pressure difference resulting in more lift. That’s why you always want to throw a 4 seam on defense because it helps your ball hold its line better than a 2 seam will.⚾️This is why when you see MLB players throw it’s like they’re throwing literally laser beams and the ball doesn’t appear to drop at all.💥Or when a hitter hits a beautiful backspin fly ball, it carries and carries and keeps going. It’s literally the same principle that causes airplanes to fly. Only different is there’s no consistent engine to keep the baseball going. Velocity off the bat is the only other controllable factor at play.—————-I enjoyed math and physics so understanding how it applies to baseball is fun for me. Long story short, this is a very elementary baseball concept that most young players don’t do properly. And this video explains how to do it.—————IPT, Sacramento Baseball Trainer | Isaiah Parker Training Diamond Edge Athletic PerformanceFitness Rangers⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Helping youth athletes Build confidence and beliefBy getting bigger, stronger, faster, And sharpening their mindsetOn the field and in the gym. by @isaiahparkertraining

This is one of the many players on our Jesuit roster who had a tool that stood out. It’s very easy to tell when players:A. Understand the craftB. Have put in lots of repetitions with intent👇🏽 Here are a few small things that stand out• On Time Pre Pitch - EVERY PITCH• Moving in the direction of the baseball (or the play) - even on foul balls • Feet are moving consistentlyThere’s a certain rhythm and tempo that a real middle infielder has. It fires me up whenever I get to watch it because it’s smooth and consistent. by @isaiahparkertraining

You can easily diagnose a players swing with this drill if they struggle with “dropping the back shoulder.”They will have these 2 results:1. Hard fly balls2. Top spin groundballs/line drivesIt will literally be only these 2 results. Try it. ✅ The solution is explained in this video.—————————-The ultimate goal is a low backspin line drive.Have you ever played pool? How do you make the cue ball have backspin? You strike slightly down THROUGH the center of the ball.💡 Same concept for baseball. The physics is exactly the same. So if you want to create backspin, you actually need to work slightly down through the center of the baseball. The difference between baseball and pool is that the baseball is moving FAST at you with different spins and angles each time😄Remember: HITTING IS HARDYou will have ups and plenty of downs. But the key is to just keep going! It’s not about how many times you get knocked down. It’s about how many times you get back up.—————IPT, Sacramento Baseball Trainer | Isaiah Parker TrainingSacramento Sports CenterDiamond Edge Athletic PerformanceFitness RangersJesuit High School by @isaiahparkertraining

Setup a baseball on the ground. Have the fielders chop their feet. Right Foot -> left foot -> catch. Under control.❌ Common problems you’ll see with youth athletes trying this drill:1. Their footwork will be incorrect. ie. Left right catch = wrong 2. Not under control3. Fielding the ball under their eyes instead of in front.Oftentimes missing groundballs comes down to improper footwork.✅A few more checkpoints• present the glove early, no late glove flips • field the ball out front!• footwork!!! • be under controlBeing able to repeat the same movements effectively is what makes fielders consistent. When the footwork is inconsistent, results will be as well.—————IPT, Sacramento Baseball Trainer | Isaiah Parker TrainingSacramento Sports CenterDiamond Edge Athletic PerformanceFitness RangersJesuit High School by @isaiahparkertraining
