Lambda Hill Days 2026 🙆🏻‍♀️

I had the honor of representing Lambda Theta Alpha at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., during my time here I was able to meet with my representatives’ staffers to discuss expanding resources for undocumented students such as seeking pathways for on-campus employment. This opportunity was a full circle moment for me, as LHD is what caught my attention as an interest and now taking it on as a sister has truly shaped me into a leader that is confident, speaks her mind when needed and empowers her community. As a First-Generation student, this opportunity wasn’t just something I pursued for myself but for my community and fellow First-Gen students to remind them the importance of seeking out opportunities big or small even when they can be scary and not to get in your head, remember what’s meant for you will come to you and to always take up space because you belong!!🌴

To Cohort 10: You ladies have shown me what true leadership and resilience looks like especially under the current administration where everything seems all uphill. You taught me how to use my passion, empathy, and people-first approach as the fuel for advocacy and reminding me to hold on to my dreams. I can’t wait to see the work you all continue to do! 🩶

To future latino/latina advocates: Remember to believe in yourself, educate yourself, and motivate yourself to keep going even when everything seems pointless or impossible to navigate. Advocacy is what you make it, it can look like holding your representatives accountable because they are there for YOU or pursuing higher education as a form of resilience and protest. Whatever it may look like to you, keep going and never let anyone tell you that it’s a waste of time because you can make a difference no matter how big or small as long as you hold on to your “why”. 🫂 taken in Washington D.
