Mariken Maidenhair Tree

The compact, bushy Ginkgo biloba ‘Mariken’ was discovered in 1995 as a witch’s broom growing in a Ginkgo tree in the Netherlands. It has proven an excellent find, descended with the unique history of the species, with the same fan-shaped green leaves that turn bright yellow in fall. But ‘Mariken’ stays very small, its thick, spreading branches loaded with a dense arrangement of foliage. The slow-growing, deciduous conifer makes a high-interest architectural feature, a flat, rounded, form, for either small garden or container.

Motala Norway Spruce

A unique needle arrangement and color give Picea abies ‘Motala’ a distinctive look. Blunt-tipped needles radiate out and downward on short, stout, vertical branches, which produces an Abies-like appearance. Minute, glaucous striations on needle tops complement the color with a silver-blue cast. This attractive selection, rarely found in the trade, enhances any landscape.

Jack Frost® maples are an exciting collection of small to medium-sized landscape maple trees from Iseli Nursery. This collection of maples has been hybridized over the last 25+ years, using Acer pseudosieboldianum as the foundation for hardiness, combined with the beauty of the branching structure and leaves of Acer palmatum. They have been evaluated and selected to tolerate the dramatic weather shifts in the upper Midwest of North America. These hybrid maples are hardy to zone 4, while also handling hot summers well. The Jack Frost® collection of maples bring a new level of durability to a popular group of landscape trees!

We currently offer 6 cultivars within this collection:

Acer x pseudosieboldianum Arctic Gold® (‘INAG-E77’)

Acer x pseudosieboldianum Winter Queen® ('INWQ-E92' PP36,977)

Acer x pseudosieboldianum Alpenglow® (‘INAG-E61’ PP35,081)
