BIG NEWS!!!! 🇩🇰 herunder.

WE HAVE SUBMITTED THE FIRST BUILDING GRANT APPLICATION FOR ISLA!!!

In 2023 we received a grant from the @realdaniadk campaign @undervaerker.dk to create a feasibility study for ISLA. After working on it for two years we finished it a while ago.

So much has happened since then and we’ve kept sharpening our tools and getting even more organised. Yesterday we pushed the button and hit “send!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!!!!!!!! Together we’re making a very needed difference for culture, both in Denmark and internationally.

We’re so psyched and eager and a little bit nervous to hear back from @realdaniadk We’re all in on the project - personally we (Cecilie and Gabriel) bought a farm and we’ve worked intensely and rigorously on developing the project for 4 years. It is SO meaningful, and it is SO needed to facilitate a space for artists to connect, organise, develop their network and dive into their projects and processes, sometimes in solitude and sometimes together in collaborations via residencies, retreats, workshops, symposiums and much more.

We’re also offering a space for the island of Strynø and the municipality of @langeland_sammen and the broader culture audience of Denmark to commune in this international creative space!

Vi har indsendt den helt store legatansøgning om støtte til renovering og nybyg på ISLA gården, hvor vi faciliterer et sted for professionelle billedkunstnere og musikere. Her skal vi tilbyde residencies, refugier, symposier, workshops og meget mere. Stedet skabes for at skabe bedre vilkår og netværk for kunstnere, men også for at tilbyde kultur til det lokale samfund og verden som helhed! Recently, my friend @signed.signe asked if she could throw a little nesting event for me, so my lady friends could celebrate my pregnancy journey and my upcoming motherhood. Not a baby shower, but a gathering with some of my favorite women, who could send me off into motherhood with warm hugs and kind words. It was one of the sweetest things I had ever heard🥰 Thank you for yesterday, dear friends. I am still deeply moved by the warm presence and love on Freja’s day the 13th. All the witchy ladies🤗 proud to have such powerful women in my life. I looked into the room and saw some of the most extraordinary entrepreneurs on the planet. Goddesses🏄🏽‍♀️🧚🏻‍♀️👸🏽I’ll tag them below, so you can follow them. And on top of everything I was woken up this morning with a Valentines surprise from Lucia and Gabriel. We love when those in power take the time to listen to the people.

@glenn_micallef and @roxana.minzatu opened the space for artists to share what would make their working life better. This is what we hope to see more of in 2026!
