Blink and you might miss some of the best stillwater fishing of the season.

Every fall, dropping temperatures trigger a feeding opportunity that many anglers never take advantage of.

Water boatman are often overlooked, but when the timing is right, trout can feed on them with incredible intensity. Knowing when, where, and how to fish these patterns can make all the difference.

Longtime Islander ambassador Tom Johannesen breaks it all down in our latest feature, from the patterns worth carrying to the techniques that put them in front of feeding fish.

Mike proves it’s all about how you fish, not what you fish out of!

Armed with @mayhemflyrods and @islanderreels, he’s getting it done the Mayhem way!

Estuary fishing always challenges you to adapt your strategy to an ever-changing environment. Tides, wind, water clarity and fish behaviour all play some part in your path to success. Having fishing buddies like @waltdarren to help with your fly selection and @blaineburris as a steadfast net man also helps.

A Hogust Special | Limited-run Teal TR3s have landed.

August might be winding down, but we’re not ready to call it yet. There are still fish to chase, more passes to make, and hopefully a few line-melting reasons to put this one to work.

Available now at select shops while they last.

Head to the link in our bio to check them out!

You know there is nowhere else I’d rather be on a smoky hot summer day than standing in a river catching monster cutties with my best friends and sharing peanut butter fireweed jelly sandwiches together #slabsfordays #okmaybetheyarenotmonstersized #unlessyoumeasurebytheirspirit @chad_des1 @islanderreels #fishwithprecision by @islanderreels

Last week, the fishing around Nanaimo was nothing short of phenomenal! A large school of Chinook salmon moved into the area, feeding aggressively and providing nonstop action.

Most of the fish were in the 73–80 cm range and beautifully marbled fillets, making for some incredible days. This impressive 86 cm Chinook put up an unforgettable fight before being safely released to continue its journey home.

The top-producing setup of the week was an O’Ki Black Super Herring Aid flasher paired with a Yes Bananas Skinny G!

Thanks Chris @islandfisher for the invite and memories!

We've all had one. A day where the fish humble you.

You leave the lake wondering what you should have done differently.

The truth is, there usually isn't one magic answer. More often than not, it's about reading the conditions, understanding where fish are holding, choosing the right fly line, and making small adjustments to your presentation that eventually tip the odds back in your favour.

That's exactly what Islander ambassador Tom Johannesen dives into in our latest article, sharing decades of lessons learned on BC's interior lakes and the little adjustments that can make all the difference when the bite gets tough.

If you've ever struggled to crack the code on a tough day, this one's worth the read.
