Mallorca was delicious in every possible way.

Ancient olive farms. Sun-warmed stone. The most stunning landscapes. The sea. Long lunches. Slow mornings. Laughter. Yoga. Curiosity. Adventure. And so much awe.

But what always delights me most is the connection.

The conversations that started casually and became meaningful. The laughter and authenticity that came so easily. The feeling of watching a group of gorgeous souls arrive as strangers and quickly feel genuinely connected.

This is why I create these retreats.

Not just to practice yoga in the most inspiring places. Not just to eat incredible food, explore, swim, wander and soak it all in.

But to create a little space to slow down, be present, be curious, and experience life. Together.

To remember that there is so much beauty in simply Being. Here. Alive.

My heart is grateful. I can’t believe I get to do this. 🥹

Thank you to these beautiful humans. Thank you, Mallorca🤍

Morocco is up next…✨

“Your death will come on an ordinary day, in the middle of unfinished plans, and the world will continue without you. So begin to live now.”

I’ve been carrying these words with me.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had this underlying awareness of time.

How quickly a season becomes a memory.
How children grow up while we’re making dinner.
How easily we assume there will be more.

More time.
More chances.
More ordinary Tuesdays.

When we’re young, time feels like something we have.

Later, we realize it’s something we’re given.

And we have no idea how much.

Maybe that’s a difficult truth.

But I’ve also found something beautiful in it.

When you really understand that life is finite, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

You linger a little longer at the table.
You call the person you’ve been meaning to call.
You stop saving the good wine for the “right” occasion.
You take the trip.
You say the thing.
You forgive.
You notice the light coming through the window.

You become a little more present for the life that’s already happening.

The Stoics called it memento mori.

Remember that you will die.

Not to frighten us.

To wake us up.

Because maybe we’re not meant to finish every plan.

Maybe we’re meant to be fully present for the pages we’re on.

One week from today, my husband and I will land in Spain for our three-month, self-proclaimed “study abroad.”

And more than anything, I want to be there.

To get lost.
To learn.
To linger.
To taste the coffee.
To sit at long tables.
To let the unfamiliar remain unfamiliar.

Because someday, Spain will be a memory.

And someday, these years will be memories.

So I’m asking myself:

What if I stopped asking what I’m going to do with the rest of my life and simply asked what I’m going to do with this day?

Because this day is the only part of my life I actually have.

And so is yours.

Begin there. ❤️ #stoicism #momentomori #livefully #ordinarymagic #onbeinghuman taken in España by @islandflowyoga

Step into a world of color, rhythm, and wonder on a retreat designed to awaken your senses and reconnect you to the magic of being fully alive.

A journey through contrast and harmony — where bustling medinas meet vast desert silence, and ancient tradition intertwines with modern expression.

We begin in Marrakech, a city alive with texture, energy, and soul. Wander through vibrant markets, inhale the intoxicating scent of spices, and allow the beauty of Moroccan architecture, artistry, and daily life to draw you deeper into the present moment.

From the city, we journey into the quiet expanse of the Agafay Stone Desert. Beneath enormous skies and glowing sunsets, we trade noise for stillness. Camel rides across the rugged terrain, evenings gathered under the stars, and shared meals rooted in tradition create space for reflection, connection, and awe.

Finally, we travel into the breathtaking Atlas Mountains, where sweeping vistas and crisp mountain air offer the perfect setting for clarity, grounding, and renewal. Nestled within this landscape lies the lush Ourika Valley — a ribbon of green woven through rivers, terraced gardens, and ancient villages rich with story and tradition. Surrounded by such vast beauty, perspective begins to shift, and something within softens and opens.

Each day is anchored by yoga, meditation, and breath-work, thoughtfully woven into our travels so that exploration and integration move hand in hand. Expect meaningful connection, unforgettable landscapes, nourishing cuisine, luxurious accommodations, and countless moments where time seems to pause and the heart opens to the magic of Morocco. This one is almost sold out. Learn more by clicking the link in my bio. 🇲🇦 #retreat #adventure #morocco #yogaretreat taken in Morocco by @islandflowyoga

A birthday reflection from my heart….
I just celebrated my 58th birthday.

More than anything, I found myself sitting in gratitude.

Grateful to be healthy. Grateful to be alive. Grateful to feel strong, vital, and free. I don’t take any of those things for granted. Another trip around the sun is never guaranteed, and I feel deeply fortunate to wake up each day with the ability to move my body, explore the world, and continue creating a life that feels aligned with who I am.

Birthdays always invite reflection, and one of the intentions I have set for this coming year is a simple but powerful one:

To stop looking at what is no longer meant for me.

Whether it’s relationships that aren’t reciprocal, opportunities that have run their course, old versions of myself, or expectations that no longer fit, I am choosing to release my grip. Not with resentment or regret, but with trust.

What is meant for me will meet me.

My energy is too precious to spend chasing, convincing, proving, or holding on.

Instead, I want to focus on what is growing, what feels nourishing, and what is calling me forward.

That forward path continues to look a little unconventional.

I’m still living nomadically, and a move to Spain is on deck. This fall we’ll be spending three months there, exploring what it feels like to create a life abroad and perhaps put down roots in a new way.

Between now and then, we’ll continue living our best lives out in the world—one adventure, one lesson, one unexpected detour at a time.

It isn’t always easy.

It definitely isn’t perfect.

There are moments of uncertainty, logistical headaches, discomfort, and plenty of challenges that don’t make it onto social media.

But there is also so much beauty.

So much growth.

So many juicy lessons.

The older I get, the more I realize that life isn’t about arriving somewhere. It’s about staying curious enough to keep evolving, brave enough to keep choosing yourself, and open enough to receive whatever comes next.

Thank you for being part of my journey.

Here’s to another year of living intentionally, loving deeply, and saying yes to the adventure. #transition #grateful #love #growth #presence taken in Marzamemi, Sicilia, Italy by @islandflowyoga

Sicily… I don’t even know how to put this week into words, but I’ll try.

This wasn’t just a retreat. It was one of those experiences that cracks you open in the most beautiful way. The kind where you arrive as one version of yourself and leave feeling softer, lighter… more you.

We moved our bodies, we breathed deeper than we have in a long time, we laughed (a lot), maybe cried a little, and shared the kind of moments you can’t plan—they just happen when the right people find each other in the right place.

There’s something about this island… the rawness of it, the beauty, the energy—you can feel it in your bones. It slows you down, brings you back, reminds you what actually matters.

And these humans…You trusted me, you showed up fully, and you co-created something so special together. That’s the part that awes me. It’s never just the place—it’s the souls. Always.

My heart is overflowing. I am humbled.

Thank you for being part of this magic 🤍

I hosted my very first retreat here—and have returned twice since. This is my happy place…my Italian home, where the magic lingers in the air and everything feels deeply, undeniably alive.

We’ll stay on a lovingly restored, family-owned estate set within an ancient olive grove, where golden light spills across the hills and every view feels like a scene from an Italian dream. Our days unfold slowly and deliciously—wandering through the hidden jewels of Tuscany and Umbria, hunting for truffles beneath the earth, lingering over long, unforgettable meals, and savoring wines that tell the story of the land.

Lucia and I have curated intimate, elevated experiences with our beloved local artisans and producers—each one rich with texture, beauty, and soul. This is more than a retreat—it’s a sensual immersion into the rhythm, flavor, and feeling of la dolce vita. Our Destination:Tuscany and Umbria

Tuscany and Umbria are the soul of Italy—where time softens, beauty lingers, and life is meant to be savored.

Rolling hills brushed in gold and green stretch endlessly beneath open skies. Cypress-lined roads wind their way through medieval hill towns, where stone walls hold centuries of stories and every turn reveals something quietly breathtaking.

This is a land of deep roots and simple pleasures—where meals are unhurried, ingredients are sacred, and wine is not just tasted, but felt. Earthy truffles, freshly pressed olive oil, handmade pasta…each flavor a reflection of the land itself.

Umbria, often called Italy’s hidden heart, offers a more untouched, intimate rhythm—wild, soulful, and deeply authentic. Tuscany, with its iconic beauty, invites you into its warmth and elegance with open arms.

Together, they create a feeling—rich, grounding, and unforgettable. This is where we slow down. This is where we reconnect. This is where we remember how to truly live. #tuscanyretreat #italy #slowtravel #ladolcevita #soultravel taken in Tuscany, Italy by @islandflowyoga

I want to share something personal with you.

When I moved to New York from the Keys a year and a half ago, I wasn’t chasing certainty, I was following a feeling. Yes, I had hopes and intentions, but no clear blueprint. In a relatively short time, I got married, bought a house, and rooted into what felt like a solid and meaningful next chapter.

And then… life offered a plot twist.

You know the old adage…
We plan—and God laughs.

I like to think of it as an invitation to loosen our grip.

So, we pivoted.
Why sit on Long Island in the bleakest months of the year when suddenly, we don’t have to?

And just like that, we put our house on the market and handed the keys over to our realtor.
Packed up the car.
Loaded in the dogs.
And, headed out on an adventure.

Destination: unknown.
Where we’ll live next: unknown.
What unfolds next: unknown.

And yet…we feel excited!

Because life has always been uncertain.
We just forget.

Yogic philosophy teaches that peace doesn’t come from controlling life, but from meeting it as it is. From staying rooted in the present moment. From giving our energy only to what is within our control—our choices, our values, our responses—and learning to release the rest.

Not with indifference…
But with trust.

Right now, we’re practicing that trust in real time.
Leaning into curiosity instead of fear.
Choosing presence over prediction.
Allowing discomfort to sit alongside freedom and joy.

Embracing what it means to bravely step into the unknown…not because we have clarity, but because we’re willing to stay awake and available as life unfolds.

2026 feels like a year of adventure.
Of movement. Of freedom.
Of remembering that growth is rarely tidy, and almost never comfortable.

If you’re standing at the edge of something uncertain…something that both excites and unsettles you…let this be your reminder: you don’t need the whole map. You only need the courage to take the next honest step. #presence #bebrave #letgo #alive #free by @islandflowyoga

As this year comes to a close, I’ve been sitting with a truth that feels impossible to ignore:

At the end of life, people rarely regret what they did.
They regret what they didn’t allow themselves to do.

They regret the truths they swallowed.
The joy they postponed.
The version of themselves they kept waiting to become.

Caregivers and hospice workers hear the same reflections again and again…not about money or status or productivity…but about freedom.

Here are a few of those truths that have stayed with me:

“I wish I had lived true to myself, not the life others expected of me.”
So many people realize too late that they betrayed their own knowing in order to be liked, approved of, or safe.

“I wish I hadn’t worked so much.”
Not because work doesn’t matter…but because presence matters more. No one wishes they had answered more emails.

“I wish I had expressed my feelings.”
Unsaid words don’t disappear. They live in the body. Honesty is not reckless…it’s liberating.

“I wish I had stayed connected to friends and community.”
In the end, it’s love that holds us. We are not meant to do this alone.

“I wish I had let myself be happier.”
This one cuts deep. Happiness is not something we earn later.
It’s something we choose to stop resisting now.

I don’t share this to create fear.
I share it to create aliveness.

To ask you, gently and honestly:
What are you waiting for?
Who are you postponing being?
What part of you is tired of living on hold?

This is your reminder:
You are allowed to choose differently.
You are allowed to want more truth, more space, more joy.
You are allowed to stop carrying what was never yours.

Free yourself.
Go live.

As you step into this new year, may you choose a life that feels honest in your body…not perfect, not performative, but alive.

With deep gratitude for you,
Lauren

Thirty one years ago today I learned what love is. A love that would stretch me and soften me, and show me who I really am. It was just the two of us. Me, young, single and uncertain, and her, this very determined luminous soul who came roaring into the world and chose me to be her mother. She was the beginning of everything, the part of my story that made me whole. She taught me to be soft and unbreakable, and through every chapter she has been my mirror, my teacher, my reason.
And now she stands as this radiant, powerful, beautiful woman—fierce, funny and free. Everything I dreamed and more. Happy 31st birthday, Sophia. You are my greatest becoming. My heart, forever walking outside my body ♥️ You are my sunshine ☀️ My clementine 🍊 My moon 🌙 and my stars ✨ I love you until the day I die and even after that 🤍I should have put you in a mason jar when I had the chance 🥹#daughter #firstborn #firstlove #motherhood #unconditional #love #birthday #onthedayyouwereborn #alwaysandforever❤️ #thisisus taken in Planet Earth by @islandflowyoga
