International recognition for our remote solar powered distillery on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand, and history in the making, literally!

Madame Distiller Ltd, aka Andi Ross, the maker of Island Gin, has been shortlisted for the IWSC International Gin Producer Trophy in London.

The first New Zealand gin producer ever shortlisted.

This is not an award for one gin. It is recognition of our whole range, our sustainable distillery, and everything we have built here on the island. As the IWSC puts it, these trophies “go beyond the performance of an individual spirit” and recognise strength across an entire portfolio.

Island Gin Original and Island Gin Navy Strength both won Gold. Orange and Mānuka Bush Honey Gin also received a medal.

We are beyond proud. Fingers crossed for November 24.

Love the fact that @neverneverdistillingco and @dutchrulesdistillingco from “over the ditch” are also amongst the shortlisted. It’s fantastic to see gins in this remote corner of our world shine.

We got Gold for our Navy Gin and Gold for our Original London dry.

Happy Earth Day 2026.
Here at Island Gin we strive to be as kind to the earth and our environment as possible.
That’s why our bottles are 70 % recycled made right here in Auckland using local NZ glass.
We are distilled using 100% solar power.
Our bottles are upcycled into Rocks glasses and Carafes or re used as water vessels and vases.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported @islandgin at the Auckland Spirits Festival this month.
We have re purposed our fronds from our cocktail bar and brought them back to the island and added them to our beach bure.
