Please don’t wake me up when September ends. I’ll forever be dreaming of how great September was. It’s one of my favourite months for so many reasons. Here are some of my favourite memories:

A few snaps from a hike in Golden, BC 📸

Golden was an area I have wanted to explore for so long. This summer we finally got to spend a few days here and it exceeded expectations. The town itself is cute and dog friendly and there are so many cool hikes.

I can’t wait to come back here one day soon!

A trip to the dog park is never complete without good snacks! #AD

Being off-leash is a privilege for Isla and we have worked so hard on her recall. She loves to walk right next to us but occasionally will go run to play with a dog or chase the birds at the park. I always make sure we have high value treats to reward her for her recall. It’s still something that we continue to work on so that she can enjoy her off-leash time and I can have a little peace of mind that she will come running back to us when called. Training is a continuous path with some good days and bad days. It’s the first week of fall and the larches are larching!

We got out on our first larch hike with Isla this week. They are golden and in varying stages of changing. It’s such a magical time of year that only lasts for such a short time.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, larch season!Here are some of our favourite larch hikes throughout the years close to Calgary, AB.

Most of these we have done multiple times throughout the years and they range from easy to hard. They all offer stunning views and Isla was able to complete them no problem. With that in mind, make sure you research if these trails are right for you. I’m always more than happy to answer any questions!

Remember, dogs much be on leash in National Parks and Alberta Provincial Parks.

I love Isla amongst the wild flowers

Peak wild season might have been over when this photo was taken but I was so happy to find this little patch of flowers. Nature just knows how to sprinkle in a splash of colour in every season.

The leaves might be changing but Isla’s dog food is not. #AD

Summer lake diaries ☀️

We spent two weeks back in July at the cabin. We had beautiful weather, lots of beach time, and great memories made with the family. It’s crazy how fast this summer has flown by!
