The temperature is dropping and the nights are getting colder, won’t you come warm up with us 🫦

Friday night will be 18+ , we’ll have whips and packers and lingerie. Bring your leatherwear for @bootblack_biscuit to shine up for free and tell him he’s a good boy ok (and give him a tip)

Saturday we’ve got hella new traders coming to lil old notts! artists making weird little guys, zines, prints, ceramics and stained glass light catchers!!

@isnotavampire will be running a swap table both days - you bring something from home and swap it for something new! The rules:

🎃 nothing unsanitary (eg cosmetics) 🎃
🎃 one swap per person 🎃
🎃 no food! No liquids! 🎃
🎃 items may be gently refused with discretion 🎃
And most importantly:

🌱 we are aiming for re-use and repurposing! Pls avoid buying items from vendors to exchange. Bring something from home, things you think people might actually want / need / bring joy! 🌱

The venue is wheelchair accessible via a lift (there’s a ramp out front but it’s realllllyyyy steep). The venue is essentially one massive warehouse, so bring your ear defenders. The first hour of both market days will be Quiet Hour - vendors won’t talk to you unless you start a conversation, and noise will be kept to a minimum

As always, we will be running a tombola for @mutual.aid.for.palestine and trans healthcare in wales. Nothing says solidarity like a little light gambling ❤️‍🔥

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! Here I am, visible! The mirror's reflection works for this day only!

I think some of you have been following me a while and may not know the points in my journey, but just in case: I go by Mort, or Mortimer, I use gender neutral pronouns (preferably xe/xem/xyrs) and I am non-binary.

This also compensation for barely any photos of myself in the last few years. One full body just to prove I am still real below the shoulder area. Lucky you! by @isnotavampire

I have a handful of resolutions this year and doing more weird and unusual makeup is one of them.

I kind of went with an idea here that made sense in my mind: a bit mould, a bit patina, a bit unearthly. Also unedited, because people should see the not so smooth bits.

This is a not so usual post for this grid - I am going to try and post more lifestyle and makeup stuff on a side account, @scent.or.sinner so if you want stuff like that follow me on that side too. It might not be super frequent posting but I'll try and keep it up.

TERATOMA

Mort Cullen’s short story takes us inside a body in revolt. Flesh at odds with itself, shifting, resisting, becoming. It’s a portrait of transformation that’s both brutal and tender: horror as metamorphosis, identity as survival.

Mort is a queer disabled libragender menace in the East Midlands, usually hunched ala Igor over xyr notes app. Influenced by gothic, religious, and medical horror, themes of transformation, and the hellscape we have going on around us. Happy belated World Goth Day! Have a smorgasbord of photos from the last couple of months. I have found myself regularly still taking photos of things I do and see but posting less.

Part of me wants to be more active on here and not just share memes on my stories, but part of me is terribly burnt out on life and the state of the world and I find when I do have energy, it goes elsewhere than socials. Especially in the last few months, as we have had many job, life and world circumstances all hit the fan (and still continuing to spin at the moment).

On the other hand, I do enjoy interacting with people. I've been debating maybe starting an IG where I review things I've bought or something to that effect but that doesn't sound terribly exciting on paper: just a way to flex my rusted reviewing and writing skills.

If you do want more of me offline, I've had poetry published in the last year! I was featured in both @thenottinghamhorrorcollective and @snowflake_magazine recently. I am being a big brave boy and entering larger contests this year and/or thinking about trying to self publish some of the poems that are rotting in my notes app.

Happy World Goth Day! I have dragged myself out of a stupor, along with my slowly dying phone, to post all those photos I've taken in the last 7 or so months in mostly chronologically descending order. The exception is the last photo because I need you all to understand that inside every goth is a silly little clown with good trousers. Made sure to include the second of two times we saw @visionvideoband last year, this one in Brum, as well as supporting the March Violets gig in Notts too.

Ironically every time I go "yeah, I should post more!" something terrible happens, as per life's mantra: "Don't".

Work and a nice bout of Depression™️ means I've still got a huge backlog of photos from the last couple months but have this photo I shared on my story a little while back. I wish this was entirely my hair but tisn't - extensions here and there will do until my hair finally starts getting past my neck's nape.

Nottingham Pride 2023 was a blast as always. I did a mix of work and pleasure this year - helping organise my workplace's cohort in the parade (though I had to hand this over more recently due to health stuff), and then walking in the parade itself supporting Notts Trans Hub. It was really exhilarating to be at the front of the march having attended since 2018. My highlight was leading a chant as we broke away down Broadway.

I appreciated seeing this display of posters directly next to where the parade began. It's important to remember the roots of Pride as a protest and seeing a DIY, authentic pop up blasting music out into the square was great. When Nothing Compares 2 U blew out over the street it was amazing.

I didn't get many photos as I was caught up in the march, sign holding, flag holding, and being absolutely wiped by 1pm! Also my flag makes me look hunchbacked, whoops. 💀 Happy Pride!

Wow, it's been a while since actually making a post. I have photos going weeks and weeks back so for now I'm going to the most primal of Instagram instincts with all my photos of food.

I have lots of stuff from going away recently and just time and days out, trying to motivate myself to be and stay creative, that I should share. The reality is I am not doing so good at the moment with work stress and general dissatisfaction with life and I find hiding away and saying little to nothing, or saying I'm fine in order to keep people unbothered is one of my coping mechanisms even when it's unhelpful. But that said, I also don't owe myself a regular posting schedule and I'm okay with that.

Did you know I once tried to start a vegan food instagram? Yeah... that didn't last long. I've tagged all the lovely places we've eaten across the last... nearly two and a bit months, and can recommend it all.
