BABE NEW QUEER MARKET JUST DROPPED. Say it with me now children; fuck landfill fodder and AI slop, Give us reeaaalllll hummmmaaaannnn slop

The temperature is dropping and the nights are getting colder, won’t you come warm up with us 🫦

Friday night will be 18+ , we’ll have whips and packers and lingerie. Bring your leatherwear for @bootblack_biscuit to shine up for free and tell him he’s a good boy ok (and give him a tip)

Saturday we’ve got hella new traders coming to lil old notts! artists making weird little guys, zines, prints, ceramics and stained glass light catchers!!

@isnotavampire will be running a swap table both days - you bring something from home and swap it for something new! The rules:

🎃 nothing unsanitary (eg cosmetics) 🎃
🎃 one swap per person 🎃
🎃 no food! No liquids! 🎃
🎃 items may be gently refused with discretion 🎃
And most importantly:

🌱 we are aiming for re-use and repurposing! Pls avoid buying items from vendors to exchange. Bring something from home, things you think people might actually want / need / bring joy! 🌱

The venue is wheelchair accessible via a lift (there’s a ramp out front but it’s realllllyyyy steep). The venue is essentially one massive warehouse, so bring your ear defenders. The first hour of both market days will be Quiet Hour - vendors won’t talk to you unless you start a conversation, and noise will be kept to a minimum

As always, we will be running a tombola for @mutual.aid.for.palestine and trans healthcare in wales. Nothing says solidarity like a little light gambling ❤️‍🔥

Big up @nikkicheriseart for our spooky promo💗💗

The Last Closet on the Left Vol.3 pre-order is now available! Inside:

Meg Mechelke finds queerness emerging from the rot of repression in The Ugly Stepsister, where the fairytale world of corsets and tiaras decays into parasitic body horror.

Eleanor James Sharpe confronts the Buffalo Belles of cinema: horror’s cross-dressing psychopaths, exploring the fears that created them and the conflicted ache of loving them anyway.

Matt Rogerson looks to The Lost Boys, where queer adolescence thrives in the leather and peroxide of the ’80s — a film that never said the word “gay,” but didn’t have to.

Mort Cullen’s short story Teratoma takes us inside a body in revolt. Flesh at odds with itself, shifting, resisting, becoming. It’s a portrait of transformation that’s both brutal and tender.

Sy Brand’s queer reading of Tetsuo: The Iron Man finds in its industrial nightmare a trans allegory of endurance. As metal fuses with flesh, identity splinters and reforms. Pain becomes power; transformation becomes reclamation.

And Pip McGough traces queerness preserved like fingerprints on celluloid, from Dracula’s Daughter to Cat People. He maps a lineage of longing and resistance — ghosts of queer desire flickering through frames that tried to contain them, but never could.

These works remind us that horror’s relationship to queerness is never simple. It can wound, distort, and misrepresent, but it can also empower, reclaim, and remind us: We’ve been here all along.
