Early Fall update:

Honestly I’ve noticed a pretty decent improvement in my physique in the last couple months. Looking at myself every day, it’s hard to see the changes, but I’ve been noticing them, which is cool. I’m also hyped for spoopy stuff, Rivers had his first chili dog (because Sonic), I spent a lot of time with family, and worked on music. Things are going well, and I’m excited for all the cool stuff coming up in the next few months.

35th BIRTHDAY POST + LIFE UPDATE

34 ended up being one of the strangest and most pivotal years of my life. I basically had to press the reset button and let go of what I thought my life was going to be. Although it was hard at first, I am genuinely quite happy with how I feel emotionally/mentally/physically and see so much more potential in myself.

I had an exciting July, filled with California burgers, Tampa training camp, punk rock gigs, gym boi shit, and spending time with people special to me.

If you read this far, you’re real as fuck and I love you. 35 is shaping up to be some of the best life I’ve ever lived and I’m hyped for it. When life knocks you down, get up and grow from it. by @istillplayska

Being a father is everything to me. My children have inspired me to continue to work to be my best self; to grow, to improve, to try everyday. This Father’s Day has definitely been different, but I am so grateful to be a dad and to show up for my kids. I feel the same way about all the students I’ve taught over the last decade who I have been able to make an impact on.

I am also grateful for my own father. An inspiring man who taught me that family is everything and to work hard to achieve your goals.

With the 25th anniversary of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, I felt like recording “What Went Wrong” by @blink182 and trying out my new camera set up. This was the first record I fell in love with and I can remember listening to it over and over again in my room. by @istillplayska

This is been a very strange couple of months, but overall I’ve been doing well. I’ve been having a great time at my new job, playing/writing/recording a ton of music, and overall just feeling good about myself. We come back from the hard shit stronger. by @istillplayska

Today was my last day running the Culinary Operations Academy of Chamberlain HS. I’ve spent the last 11 years teaching in the same culinary program that taught me and spent every minute of it doing my best to make a difference and impact my students. I’m so proud of everything I accomplished over this time. Although there will be much to miss, I am beyond excited for the next chapter. Stay tuned. by @istillplayska

The last two months have been wild. Somewhere amongst all the chaos, stress, and despair going on, some fun stuff happened. I increased most of my PRs at the gym, made s’mores, did pirate things(gasparilla), had some of my favorite students come visit, was made “beautiful” by my daughter, made at least 2 dozen burritos, and made some other dope food. Life is v weird right now and I want to scream, but let’s just try to enjoy what we enjoy. by @istillplayska

2025 was the year that I fell back in love with making music. @misadventurefl I believe is @elwoodbond and my “final form” and us at our best. We played our first gig, and put out a Demo and two singles. I turned my closet in to a studio and I wrote more songs this year than I did in the last 5 before. I feel like the bands and musicians I respect and admire see me more as a musician and not just a fan or “Woody’s friend”. I’ve always wanted to be a contributor to the ska community and that’s been slowly happening this year. Today, we dropped our last song of the year, and I’m so hyped on it.

Besides music, I’ve spent the year working on my self as a father, as a husband, and as a strong boi. I’m pleased with my results and will continue to learn and grow and meet my goals.

This year definitely was not perfect, but when I focus on my four walls and my community, it was pretty sick.

I look forward to 2026. by @istillplayska
