On A Productive Conversation podcast I talked with @itsmikevardy about busy schedules versus smarter work. It takes real leadership to choose smarter design. Meetings seemed slow, but slowing down to connect sped up caseloads. Understanding each other built better cases, with unexpected results. #WorkSmarter #GoSlowtoGoFast #Design #Leadership #TimebyDesign by @iteachtime

Joined @itsmikevardy on A Productive Conversation podcast to talk about Time by Design. When writing the book, I realized that the virtues of slow as fast were everywhere from the fable of the tortoise and hare to the Navy Seals edict. #SlowIsSmooth #SmoothIsFast #NavySEALs #MindsetShift #ProductivityHacks #TimebyDesign by @iteachtime

The 25-26 academic year was one for the books—literally and figuratively. šŸ“– Looking back through these 20 moments, I’m struck by the mix of ā€œhigh-velocityā€ milestones and the ā€œslowā€ moments that actually sustained them.

From the #TimebyDesign book launch (hosted by @blackpearlbooks with @smileitsjoy) and promotion to full professor, to grad seminars (@utcommstudies) exploring how tea traditions (@thesteepingroom) and #LaughterYoga (@laughter_yoga_with_mari) (re)shape community, it’s been a season of celebration. Whether it was meals with friends (@mochatwinmama + @travisldixon) at conferences, witnessing student milestones (@thedoc.richardson), or supporting the vital work of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, the common thread was transcendence through intentionality.

Now, I’m shifting gears. Summer mode means trading classes + meetings on campus for longer meditations, focused research, and the ā€œslow logicā€ of weekends with family.

How are you intentionally shifting your pace this season? I’d love to hear what your ā€œsummer modeā€ looks like. taken in Moody College of Communication - UT Austin by @iteachtime

You don’t need more time… you need a better relationship with it ā³

Dr. Dawna Ballard shares a simple bio-hack:
šŸ“… If it matters, schedule it.
Stop relying on to-do lists
Start treating your priorities like appointments
Because what gets scheduled… gets done.

Time isn’t just something you have—it’s something you create together. ā³āœØ

In Episode 20 of the Health in Wealth PodcastĀ®, Dr. Dawna Ballard unpacks chronemics—the powerful (and often overlooked) science of how time shapes our conversations, relationships, and connection.
We don’t just spend time.
We co-create it.

And in doing so… it shapes who we become.

From the pauses in conversation to the rhythms of your relationships, every moment is a silent language influencing how we connect.

šŸ’¬ What does your use of time say about your relationships?

POV: You’re busy… but still broke in time, energy, and abundance.

Episode 20 of the Health in WealthĀ® Podcast hits different šŸ’

ā€œTime povertyā€ isn’t just about a packed schedule — it’s what happens when you’re too busy to restore yourself.

No rest. No reset. No growth.

✨ When you don’t ā€œsharpen the sawā€:
– You make survival decisions, not abundant ones
– Burnout becomes your baseline
– Growth feels out of reach

🧠 With guest Dawna Ballard & host Ana Ramos, we unpack why:
Rest is productive.
Systems create freedom.
And slowing down is sometimes the fastest way forward.

Because abundance isn’t built in exhaustion — it’s built in alignment.

šŸŽ§ Save this for your reset reminder & tune into Episode 20 now.

Time isn’t just money… it’s meaning.

In a world obsessed with productivity, we’ve been conditioned to rush conversations, cut people off, and treat connection like a ā€œnice-to-haveā€ instead of a necessity. But what if that mindset is costing us more than it’s saving?

šŸŽ™ļø In Episode 20 of the Health in Wealth Podcast, Dr. Dawna Ballard unpacks how our belief that ā€œtime is moneyā€ is quietly eroding the quality of our relationships—and what we can do to shift it.

When we prioritise speed over presence:
• We minimise meaningful communication
• We miss emotional cues
• We disconnect from the human experience

True wealth isn’t found in how fast you move—it’s in how deeply you connect.
✨ Slow down. Listen fully. Be present.
Because the way you spend your time shapes the quality of your life.

Time isn’t just something we manage… it’s something we communicate. ā³

In HEALTH IN WEALTHĀ® — Episode 22, host Ana Ramos sits down with Dawna Ballard to explore a powerful shift: what if the pace of our lives is shaping the quality of our relationships, our work, and our well-being?

From response times to interruptions, from urgency to stillness—this conversation invites you to rethink everything you thought you knew about time. Not as a productivity tool, but as a relational force.

✨ In this episode:
• Why speed is co-created (not just a personal habit)
• How urgency quietly becomes the norm
• The hidden language of pace in our relationships
• What it means to design your time, instead of reacting to it

Because maybe the real question is…
Are you using time—or is time using you?
