Addressing the UAB Medicine class of 2026, I identified the most important innovation in health care to be the unhurried conversation. Not every organization can create the conditions for patients and clinicians to have them. In my view, however, it is hard to care well without them. When care is not exploited, when supported, it sustains care giver and receiver.

An extract from my commencement address to the UAB Medicine class of 2026. This one is about time not as a resource in minutes but as the place for care. See the whole address via link in the bio.

Year 1 as a Longhorn is done! ✅

I’m grateful for the grades I earned while maintaining STR Superhost status (without a housekeeper, until now!), making the path toward home-ownership simple for very deserving individuals and families, upgrading my car, and staying connected to community and love in my life (and more 🤪).

Returning to undergrad in this chapter of life? 😅 None of this is possible without the care and support of community, a good head on my shoulders, and a dream-driven heart. 💕

The Time Bio-Hack Nobody Talks About…but Everyone Needs

You don’t need more time… you need a better relationship with it ⏳

Dr. Dawna Ballard shares a simple bio-hack:
📅 If it matters, schedule it.
Stop relying on to-do lists
Start treating your priorities like appointments
Because what gets scheduled… gets done.
Save this for your next reset 🔁

Time isn’t just something you have—it’s something you create together. ⏳✨

In Episode 20 of the Health in Wealth Podcast®, Dr. Dawna Ballard unpacks chronemics—the powerful (and often overlooked) science of how time shapes our conversations, relationships, and connection.
We don’t just spend time.
We co-create it.

And in doing so… it shapes who we become.

From the pauses in conversation to the rhythms of your relationships, every moment is a silent language influencing how we connect.

💬 What does your use of time say about your relationships?

POV: You’re busy… but still broke in time, energy, and abundance.

Episode 20 of the Health in Wealth® Podcast hits different 💭

“Time poverty” isn’t just about a packed schedule — it’s what happens when you’re too busy to restore yourself.

No rest. No reset. No growth.

✨ When you don’t “sharpen the saw”:
– You make survival decisions, not abundant ones
– Burnout becomes your baseline
– Growth feels out of reach

🧠 With guest Dawna Ballard & host Ana Ramos, we unpack why:
Rest is productive.
Systems create freedom.
And slowing down is sometimes the fastest way forward.

Because abundance isn’t built in exhaustion — it’s built in alignment.

🎧 Save this for your reset reminder & tune into Episode 20 now.

Between 2PM–4PM, your body is designed to power down and repair

Sleep scientists have found this is the exact window where car accidents spike — not by chance, but because your alertness, reaction time, and focus are at their lowest.
And it goes even deeper…

It’s less than about it being harmful to be awake than it is about the fact that the siesta is designed perfectly and intentionally around our natural rhythms.

So ask yourself:
Are you pushing through exhaustion… or respecting your body’s natural rhythm?

🎙️ This is Episode 20 of the Health in Wealth Podcast featuring Dr. Dawna Ballard

Time isn’t just money… it’s meaning.

In a world obsessed with productivity, we’ve been conditioned to rush conversations, cut people off, and treat connection like a “nice-to-have” instead of a necessity. But what if that mindset is costing us more than it’s saving?

🎙️ In Episode 20 of the Health in Wealth Podcast, Dr. Dawna Ballard unpacks how our belief that “time is money” is quietly eroding the quality of our relationships—and what we can do to shift it.

When we prioritise speed over presence:
• We minimise meaningful communication
• We miss emotional cues
• We disconnect from the human experience

True wealth isn’t found in how fast you move—it’s in how deeply you connect.
✨ Slow down. Listen fully. Be present.
Because the way you spend your time shapes the quality of your life.
