Another song from Reality Red, lots of amazing @ahmsound drumming on this one, lots of sweet Simon singing, a bit of beautiful Bryce bouzouki...Sam strumming...me...malingering... Enjoy this big budget video ($90 of firewood) Shoutout to HitFilm express. I had to leave real quick at the end because i thought my pants were melting. @itrecordsmelb by @itrecordsmelb

Excited to be presenting my 2017 Other Places LP Lost in the Sea of Paradise in the Listening Room as part of REVERB presented by ACMI @acmionline & @rising.melbourne next Friday.

This album took a long time to create. On the back of 2013’s self released album Symbols, I started to experiment…

The opening track Endings are Beginnings was recorded in early 2014. My friend @chrisrainier borrowed an EMS Pitch to Voltage converter and we plugged his lap steel in and used it to invert its sliding pitch to control the Synthi’s oscillator…it became the opening track to an album that began narrating the journey that followed…

REALITY RED IS COMING.

We know a lot of you have been waiting for Bitumen’s third album. Well, good news: REALITY RED is officially out November 6 — on digital and, more importantly, lovely transparent red vinyl. Limited to 300 copies, because apparently we enjoy making things difficult.

The artwork is finally out in the wild, and you can pre-order the LP right now via Bandcamp.

And because we’re feeling generous, we’ve slipped the next single, “Perffect Dress,” onto the pre-order a little early.
Listen early. Order the red wax. November 6.

On REALITY RED Bitumen push the boundaries of post-punk without abandoning the darkness that brought them there. Still vicious and dramatic, driven by propulsive rhythms, blistering guitars and a prowling and intense vocal presence. A shifting landscape of genre and tempo inhabited by characters fictional, imagined, observed and autobiographical.

Posting this again now I’m not half asleep and it’s available in the @nts_radio archive. I truly enjoyed putting this show together, a crazy ol’ mix of all time and recent faves where I really focused on shorter tracks. It was a huge honour to take over for @5hags this month. Link to listen in bio. Radio rules, thanks NTS.
