The band (plus Fran). Some clips. Also I just stumbled across this corner near @theblueguitar ‘s old house where we shot a little performance in 2006. The universe provides these hints of eternity sometimes. Always bittersweet having to leave, thanks and til next time my beautiful Oz friends.

It was a huge privilege to present my 2017 LP Lost in the Sea of Paradise to a packed audience in The Listening Room for Reverb presented by @acmionline @rising.melbourne

My deepest gratitude to Robin Fox @foxalot for inviting me to be part of this amazing series amongst so many incredible artists.

Lost in the Sea of Paradise is the 3rd album for my solo project Other Places which came in existence in 2007.

First ST album recorded in 2008/9 self released in 2011.
Second album SYMBOLS recorded 2012 self released 2013
Third album LitSoP recorded 2014/15 released 2017 via @itrecordsmelb .

There’s a new one coming…10 years since the last…but I’ve been busy doing other cool stuff.

Thanks to all the lovely new friends I met last night!!

Excited to be presenting my 2017 Other Places LP Lost in the Sea of Paradise in the Listening Room as part of REVERB presented by ACMI @acmionline & @rising.melbourne next Friday.

This album took a long time to create. On the back of 2013’s self released album Symbols, I started to experiment…

The opening track Endings are Beginnings was recorded in early 2014. My friend @chrisrainier borrowed an EMS Pitch to Voltage converter and we plugged his lap steel in and used it to invert its sliding pitch to control the Synthi’s oscillator…it became the opening track to an album that began narrating the journey that followed…

I truly enjoyed putting this show together, a crazy ol’ mix of all time and recent faves where I really focused on shorter tracks. It was a huge honour to take over for @5hags this month. UPDATE: show is now in the NTS archive and listenable at link in my bio. @5hags has fulfilled many of my fantasies over the years, so it”s of zero surprise to me that he’s made one of my dreamiest dreams come true, namely presenting a show (HIS show) on @nts_radio this month, this second. Making radio is one of my favourite things, not completely unlike making a record but superior to putting together your own album because you know it’s all bangers rather than just the usual 80/90 percent. Hear the last five minutes right now! (I was a day out with this post in my mind) 13:00 LA, 22:00 Berlin, 6:00 Naarm, but on demand soon of course, and thanks Shagatha you mystical dreamweaver, look at us there when we were just little tackers.
