Here I am & it’s quite a big deal because I hate being in front of the camera. It makes me feel uncomfortable, awkward and I mostly run a mile from it

And weirdly… I think that’s my strength.

The thing my clients say to me most (apart from that they adore their photos) Is that they thought they’d hate the experience and actually ended up feeling relaxed, comfortable… just like spending some time with a good friend.

And honestly, as someone who feels exactly the same way in front of a camera, I couldn’t ask for a better compliment.

So if you’re someone who feels a bit unsure, a bit self-conscious or like you’d rather be anywhere else than in a picture, don’t run from documenting your story, your time on this earth.

You’re exactly who I do this for.

Random Friday in October reflection 🍂this year I’ve been quietly rearranging my life.
Stopped trying to fix everyone else’s chaos and started sorting my own.
Built Anam Photography with trust, tea, and a few deep breaths.
Choosing small, steady things that actually feel like me.

My life’s not perfect, but it’s definitely more mine.
Less noise, more meaning. More walks, more laughter, more light (and fewer “what am I even doing?” moments).

To everyone who’s cheered me on, thank you. You’ve reminded me that growth doesn’t happen solo. It happens with good people around and putting yourself out there to meet more incredible souls✨❤️

If you’ve been rebuilding too, even quietly, even slowly, it still counts.
Tiny shifts add up when they’re aligned with who you want to be✨

Seeing the sun in the sky & the flowers beginning to bloom really does give me an energy boost & makes me feel like this is the proper start to the year✨

This year I am focusing on growth in all areas of my life… and I thought I would start by introducing myself properly🌱

Is there anything more adorable than a baby in a bath? These are the types of photos that become family heirlooms ( or that your parents embarrass you with at your 21st) either way you treasure them forever!
@made.in.motherhood said she couldn’t walk past this sink without putting the baby in it & look at the gorgeous result, photoshoots don’t need to be complicated and I am here for all the nostalgia ❤️

MODEL CALL · The Burren, Co. Clare · 17th & 18th October

I’m starting a personal project and I’m looking for women to photograph as goddesses from mythology. Any age, but I’d love a real mix, so if you’re 70 and think I don’t mean you, I do!

I chose the Burren because I can’t think of anywhere in Ireland that looks more like somewhere a goddess would live.

Ireland is just the start. This is an ongoing project about the goddesses we’ve forgotten, all over the world & what we lost when we stopped feeling connected to nature. A lot of those old stories tied the land and the feminine together & I’d like to bring some of that back. So if you’re from another culture or tradition, please get in touch too. I’d love to hear about your goddess.
Nearly everyone tells me they’re terrible in photos and then they’re not. Before the shoot we’ll have a chat about which goddess feels right for you.

It’s free to take part and you’ll get edited photos to keep but you must be ok with me using the image on social media or in exhibition spaces.

Natalie & Johnny : Volume 1: The legal bit

Before their extravaganza wedding in Greece, Natalie & Johnny had a small civil ceremony at the beautiful Camden Town Hall. Afterwards we had a stroll across the road to capture this beautiful love story outside the gorgeous St Pancreas.

I’ve been quiet on here for a while, posting stories here & there, but not really showing up & if I’m honest it’s not because I was too busy, it’s because I’ve been hiding 🫣

Posting & showing up online still makes me nervous. There’s a version of me that would happily do this job forever & never post about it once. But that’s not really how it works if you’re trying to run a business.

So I went quiet instead of dealing with that. Classic me & I am sure a lot of other people out there!

Anyway. I’m back and I want to start actually sharing the sessions get to be part of, because this job is actually really fun! ✨

When I became a mum, I never really enjoyed mother and baby groups. Never felt like I fitted in. Never felt really connected to anyone in the space including myself.

Not because they weren’t lovely. In fact I even ran one for a little while.

But because I always felt like we talked about babies... and I desperately wanted someone to ask how I was.
And not in a “how are you?” “I’m fine” conversation, but in a deeper, meaningful conversation where I felt I could be honest about how scared, happy, depressed, fulfilled, lonely or vulnerable I was feeling. The whole range of contradictions in motherhood!

When a baby is born, a mother is born too.

I read these words recently & and it sparked something in me to take action on something that I have been thinking about for a long time.

Writing saved me, it allowed me to reconnect with myself beyond the labels of who I am in my life and I would love to bring that to other mothers who feel like they may have lost themselves in motherhood a little or those who are trying not too.

So I’ve decided to create the space I wish had existed when I first became a mother.

✨ The Becoming Circle ✨
A gentle space to pause.
To write.
To reflect.
To have honest conversations.
To meet other mothers.
To remember that you’re still in there too.

These are my very first pilot sessions and, if I’m honest, I’m feeling equal parts excited and terrified about sharing them. But sometimes the things that matter most begin with simply seeing who turns up.

🤍 Open to all mothers.
👶 If you’re bringing your baby, they’re welcome if they’re under 12 months. Please don’t worry if they cry, feed, sleep or need cuddles, this is a space that understands babies being babies.

📍 One Forty, Harrow
📅 Thursday 9th July & Thursday 16th July
⏰ 10:00am-11:30am
💚 Pilot price: £5 per session
