Today is Jackie’s 60th Birthday and I want to wish him the Happiest & Most Joyful Day Ever!! Normally I’d be throwing him a FABULOUS Party but, as we all know, the current situation keeps us all from celebrating his milestone day. So instead I decided to do a “Drive-By Birthday”!! Let me tell you, this was the best idea and day EVER!! It felt like ‘normal’ was back!! I first texted all our INCREDIBLE neighbors and they were all on board. Everything started at 2:00!! We got in the car and all our neighbors had balloons, whistles, pots, pans, cookies, cakes, music, cards...I mean it was AMAZING!! I was honking the horn and everyone, for the most part, stayed their social distance and it just felt so good to see all their happy beautiful faces!! Then we traveled to other friends that live in other neighborhoods ( everyone had a specific time slot so I had a schedule to keep)...oh, by the way, this was all a SURPRISE for Jackie too...So, again, horn honkin’ and everyone was at their driveway/sidewalk (very good direction followers)...Happy Birthday signs, more cards, more love ❤️ then my brother Greg and sister-in-law Laurie call us, who live over an hour away, and they’re sitting in their car on OUR driveway to surprise Jackie...WOW, what a surprise it was...the BEST kind!!! So we come back home and there they are...so I said, “why don’t you guys just join us in the back seat driving all over town continuing our “Drive By Birthday”?? So, of course, they wanted in on the fun. After all, they just drove over an hour to our house...I wasn’t just gonna send them home. So we trekked to more friends, more signs, more cookies, more birthday wishes, more love ❤️ Today was like Old Times....like a breath of fresh air. Made us appreciate all the warmth and love from all of our friends and family so much...so much more than ever before. When this ‘thing’ is over, we are hopefully going to be changed, in a good way, in the best way...More happiness, more appreciation, more love ❤️
So if it’s your birthday and you want to get out and spend some time with friends, even for a few minutes, I highly recommend “Drive By Birthdays”! taken in French Valley, California by @its_cappy_1
