Our first cabin was the coziest tiny loft space we have ever dreamed of. Nestles on the quiet valley floor, in a bowl of mountains 360 degrees, we felt as if we were hobbits in a J.R.R Tolkien novel. With views of the cherry orchards out front too. This place was just heaven for the explorer within.

Unpopular opinion 📢 (according to meta...apparently)

I need your help to backdate to a version of this app and restore my feed back to wholesomeness & inspiration of the people I actually follow.

I've become very disillusioned with this app recently, actually all social media, kinda just the internet in general. And It feels like Instagram has evolved solely into a marketing tool.

My corner of the Internet here is for wholesome makings, rambles, adventures, building a small community and nice things, but I feel this needs to be said.

What happened to making stuff just for fun? Why is my feed full of accounts I don't follow selling me stuff I don't want.

It's either an influencer product placement disguised within a post paired with an AI generated caption or an outright ad trying to sell me a product or service I don't need.

It feels like it's got so much worse recently,
Meta, we never asked for this.

And It's all SO loud.

When I log in it's like a room full of people screaming at me.

I used to come here to feel creative and connected, not overwhelmed and overstimulated.

I've contemplated leaving all together, but I still really just want to make art and post it for fun, show my friends and see what other people around the world are making and get inspired.

And I know the people I follow to see their wholesome and inspiring lil posts and snapshots of life are still here somewhere.

Anyway, I hope this little bit of human made art finds you quietly at the right moment in a sea of ads and ai.

Maybe I’ve spent too much time trying to photograph everything.

The eclipse was a good reminder that not every moment needs to become a photograph.

Some things can just be written down.

I’m starting these notebooks as a way of keeping the bits of life that don’t necessarily make it into a camera roll.

The mundane stuff. The funny stuff. The things I’d otherwise forget.

I wonder what they’ll mean in 20 years.
