📣 YOUR POWER 📣 YOUR VOTE 📣

Indigenous Rights — Data Centres — Climate Action — Budget Cuts — Involuntary "Care" — Policing — Arts Crackdowns — Tenants Rights — SWer Protections — and so much more.

Thats what's on the ballot this October 17th and in 2022, only 1 in 3 people turned out to vote 🗳

Take Back Your City is a community townhall to give you the chance to hear directly from, and speak directly to, the people asking to serve you 🗣

Featuring a panel discussion from party representatives, an audience question period, voting resources, tables from local parties and grassroots orgs, and by donation snacks, this is your chance to get informed and get mobilized to take back your city!

RSVP and fill in your priorities at the survey link in Bio and well see you soon.

We're officially newsworthy y'all 🥹

So grateful to @pb.fuller for doing this beautiful writeup of myself, @eden_peanutbutter, and @erinpurghart

I've linked the article in my bio, and I'm super happy with with the way it captured everything we're hoping to do at @laughsinqueervancouver.

Y'all make this possible by continuing to come out and support the shows and I hope that we can keep bringing you the amazing queer/trans comedy you've come to love 💕💕 by @itsanew_kay

Vancouver! I’m coming to town to ride your robot trains and for a night of comedy alongside some local queer favs.

Swipe that carousel above for maximum post ✨engagement✨ and to read some nice things people have said about me that I felt incredibly embarrassed laying out in Canva (I am worthy of love I am worthy of love I am worthy of love).

Our host will be in the incomparable @itsanew_kay, the mind behind @rawuncutcomedy (Canada’s only all Trans femme comedy show). We’re also excited to be joined by @JFLVancouver alums @erinpurghart and @jlupini, who are celebrated and beloved for their comedic talents.

All proceeds will be going to @foundry_bc, which provides free and confidential mental health and wellness services for BC youth.

Queer comedy for a great cause? Grab those tickets - link in bio or via @littlemountaingallery!

Because these upcoming elections are going to be a disaster of a magnitude never seen before for trans rights — not just in BC, but across Canada and even the wolrld — if a certain political party ends up with a majority. taken in Vancouver, B.C., Canada by @itsanew_kay

Taking a quick detour from comedy production to host "Vancouver's" first queer municipal election townhall 🗳

If it wasnt obvious, I care very deeply about both local political and the queer community. Despite being more politically engaged than the general population, queer people have few accessible opportunities to meaningfully engage politicians on our own terms.

Take Back Your City was our effort to change that.

Your municipal representatives decide more about your life that any other level of government and we deserve to have our say ‼️

Thanks so much to @pb.fuller and @thetyee for covering this story!

Thank you also @birdhouseartspace, @dogwoodbc, @no.ai.vancouver, @earnesticecream, @jesseraythey, @qmunity, @policeoversight, @movementyvr, @socialist_alternative for supporting, sponsoring, or coming out to table 🫶

And lastly thank you to all the friends who helped make this happen and all of you who showed up and showed everyone that our community matters and our voices will not go unheard 📣📣📣
