I knew my 30’s were going to be my time to shine ✨
I just didn’t fully understand why the same way I do now.

30 is when I really started to want better.
Like REALLY want better.
Enough to walk away from what I knew.
To make sacrifices, apologies, and new story lines.
It’s when I started drawing outside the lines to find the patterns I loved the most.

30 was when I realized I truly didn’t have any idea who TF I really was. I didn’t know what I liked, where I excelled, what I stood for, what I valued or what I really wanted.

It took me 30 years to stop settling for surviving in chaos & blending in a crowd trying to fit the form of everyone around me.

I fit my own form now & then I broke the f*in mold.

There’s only one of me.
There’s only one of you.

We aren’t late.

October 3rd 🩵 the day he filled the family gap we didn’t even know we had. He made us our Million Dollar Family, has given us a million more smiles & watching Maverick become a big sister has been the most magical gift of all.

He came into the world before his time & was immediately strong. To see him live this past year with a carefree joy, constant smile & laughter that comes right from his toes has been the greatest reward as parents.

The day that Harley was born we saw my OBGYN in London. Dylan took the day off to drive me as the first thing I said to him was “my pain has gone from feeling like a growing pain to feeling like a period cramp.” He told me it was in my head- Braxton Hicks for sure- measured my stomach, said we were inducing me at 39 weeks for my heart condition & sent us home. Truly he made me feel pretty silly. I remember even making an optimistic post about the 39 weeks because he made me feel like I was being negative…

Later that evening I was knees on the ground, bent over our bed, deep breathing, sweating & feeling like my entire body was going to explode. My husband said enough is enough and drove us to the nearest hospital to see if he was right or I was in labour. By the time we got there I was 3cm dilated.

This hospital wasn’t equipped to deliver someone with my heart condition so they called an ambulance to take me to London. I needed a doctor & nurse so Dylan had to follow behind. The nurse took my phone and asked for my password in case we had to pull over and deliver, she could call Dylan. Every second mattered.

We arrived in London with the moments left we needed to try and slow the process down a little bit so my heart didn’t burst or stop delivering baby boy- the reason he was high risk the entire time.

The time after that shaped our family as an absolute rock. We came together. We got stronger. We defined odds & roughly 5 weeks later we were able to bring him home to meet his big sister.

We’ve been invincible ever since, the little boy who taught us resilience & joy all at one time 🤍
