Obsessed with my Mom @erikajbush
Scared of most everything else
I might panic, but I do it with style 🐾

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Oh, hey 👋🏼 I’m Carter.

Southern born. Rescue mutt. Lab-pittie-hound-situation. Now living that cold-nosed, spoiled-rotten life in Maine with my human @erikajbush

I’m a certified Nervous Boy™.
Sweet as sugar, scared of… well, everything.
Mailboxes? Terrifying. Wind? Suspicious.
But I’ve got heart. Big one. Like, embarrassingly big.

Came with a busted pelvis, some spicy seizures, and a suitcase full of trauma. But me and Mom? We fixed it. Mostly. We’re a team… like peanut butter and “please don’t touch me.”

Obsessed with her? 100%. If she moves, I move. If she blinks, I panic. Love is real.

Now, hiking? That’s my jam. In the woods I am strong. I am brave. I am… still a little scared, but mostly vibing.

Treats? Nah. Keep ‘em. Gourmet kibble? Hard pass. I eat what I want, when I want. Which is usually nothing. I’m dramatic like that.

Follow along.

But seriously… fireworks are not for dogs ❌

A friendly reminder that while it seems fun to bring your dog to fireworks, it’s not. Here are some tips to keep your dogs safe and secure this 4th of July ⬇️

🏠 Keep Us Inside
Make sure our walks happen early and we’re fed long before the fireworks begin so we can do our thing before they start!

🎧 White Noise or Calming Music
Keep some white noise going to reduce our stress around our noises. My Mom keeps me scared all summer with the white noise of an air conditioner, but they have YouTube channels for this too.

🦴Toys and Distractions
Some dogs, like my little brother @itsjudedood are easily distracted with a simple toy or new snack. It’s a good way to keep us not focused on noises outside.

🪟 Checks Windows and Doors
Make sure they’re locked in case we get spooked and try to take off. Especially if you’re lighting off your own.

⏰ Mind Curfews
Eventually, we’re gonna have to go the bathroom before bed. Be mindful of how late you’re setting off fireworks so that your neighbors (the 4 and 2 legged ones) can get some sleep.

Have a Happy 4th of July and stay safe!

Me? Well, I’m gonna be my normal panicked self either way.

Probably needed a nap.
Got a little brother instead.

Thanks, Mom.
