If you'd have asked me how I saw 2023 ending, it wasn't like this.

This time last year I was training for the London Marathon, hoping to affirm my mental and physical strength following a challenging 2022. But in early 2023 I received a call that ended that dream, and many others, when I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition.

Fast forward through months of tests, appointments and in November 2023 I had a ICD (aka pacemaker + defibrillator) put in.

One month on, my lil Iggy (new names for my ICD welcome) is making itself at home.

I'm now on a physical journey of recovery as well as mental, not just for the surgery, but in understanding what my new life looks like; adjusting hopes and dreams, adapting what once were daily habits and reimagining my future.

It's difficult, it's sad and it's scary, for more reasons than I can begin to explain.

However, this isn't a sympathy post. It's simply an awareness post.

The truth is, you never know how long you've got.

Unfortunately, I waited too long to do things I’d hoped to do “one day” and while, thanks to this little device, hopefully the days will still come… I'll just have to come up with new ways to spend them.

So please, I encourage you, don't wait, don't hesitate, don't overthink; just go, do, be and enjoy every moment of it, because tomorrow isn't guaranteed, let alone another new year.

2022, you were bittersweet.
2023, you were brutal.
2024, take your best shot.

🙏✨

One minute I’m training real clients.
Next minute, I’m playing one on camera.
Full method. Full circle. Fully focused.

Shoutout to @natwest for letting me bring my double life to set.

Now casting: someone to stretch my hamstrings between takes. 😫

...was feeling pretty self conscious ahead of this holiday. I haven't been in a bikini in nearly 5 years, my body has changed a lot in the last 3, and now I have a lump of metal sticking out of my chest.

But as it turns out.. Nobody is watching anybody but themselves. And that little metal box, is more of a conversation starter than anything else...

Re-learning to love this battleship called my body is a process, but we are getting there. ✌️💛
