I got my start in this game in JUCO. Those first 3 years built me, and I’ll never forget where I came from. Now, I’ve been given the chance to experience coaching on the 4-year level. I’m excited to bring that same hunger, energy and flair to Ohio.

Year 3.

The end of a chapter, yet the beginning of something new.
For 2 years, Neosho became my second chance, not just for this coaching thing, but leadership. Real leadership isn’t a title, it’s not a status. You earn the respect and learn the craft at the same time.

It’s staying the course while learning the cost.
It’s learning to care deeply without carrying another person’s weight.
It’s about accepting failure and loss, even when you’ve done absolutely everything that you could do.
It’s coaching the rep right in front of you while feeling the hurt of time running out.
Coaching isn’t a job to me, it’s ministry.

To this city, to my church, to this community:
Thank you for allowing to grow in my walk in faith and manhood.
Thank you for helping the little boy inside finally let go of the pain that nobody knew about.
Thank you for showing me love through both compassion and correction.
Thank you for walking me through the cost of leadership.
And to my athletes: Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives, even the ones we lost along the way. You all taught me more than I taught you. Remember what you learned from me:

You mattered before the uniform.
You mattered before the mistakes.
You mattered before the records and times.
You mattered before the first day I ever coached you.
This is just the closing of one chapter, this is not the end of the story.

Thank you guys, for everything.

1st USTFCCCA Convention ✅
It was amazing getting the opportunity to make some new friends and meet new coaches from all over the country, in addition to catching up with others I haven’t seen in a while. To be in rooms with legends of the sport and being able to connect with them, it was an experience to remember. Already looking forward to next year🙏🏾

Year 2 ✅️🧡✌🏾
I'm thankful and grateful for everything that happened this season, both the good and the bad.

This was a transformational year, a year filled with a great deal of growth and development, along with major success.
There's many areas I need to improve in and work on, not just as a coach, but as a leader. To know better is to do better.

Looking forward to next season already. Business is boomin', and I'm just getting started. #Year3Loading #SHOtime by @itscoachzay
