POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Walked in with determination, walked out with a DOCTORATE!

This moment isn’t just about a degree…..it’s about resilience, growth, and grace. From late nights, early mornings and everything in between… I kept pushing, and here I am.

1 Corinthians 15:10 — “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.”

Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way—this is OUR win.

END OF AN ERA……BEGINNING OF A GREATER HEIGHTS!

9/22/21 my 5 year dream was actualized. I applied for my first ever TEDx Talk in 2016 and was rejected. 5 years later, here I sit taking in the moment. The moment that will literally last a lifetime.

The moment as the ONLY black women out of all the speakers selected to Grace the stage that night.

The moment where I realized that I blazed a trail for people who look like me to bet on themselves and learn a tad bit more about SELF REFLECTION & EMOTIONAL WELLNESS.

The moment I knew I was the culmination of SAYING YES to GOD’s will for my life and every dream I had was within reach even if I DID NOT SEE IT!

The moment I know will be apart of my legacy.

Here’s to blazing trails, doing the work and knowing that “NO” only means NOT YET.

Take 9 minutes of your time and watch my TED TALK….I mean I waited 5 years for this, don’t leave me hanging.

Invited once is an honor. Invited back is a blessing🙌🏽

Leadership begins long before the microphone.

It begins in the quiet decision to speak when something needs to be said. To listen when someone needs to be heard. To serve when recognition isn’t guaranteed.

I was honored to return as keynote speaker for the 2026 Delaware State University SGA Inauguration and challenge this year’s administration, “THE VOICE” to lead through three commitments:

Amplify. Align. Advance.

AMPLIFY the voices around you.
ALIGN your actions with your values.
ADVANCE a future worthy of those you serve.

Because the best leaders aren’t remembered for the positions they held, but for the people they served.

YEAR 21!!

Wow!! Two decades of showing up for students, shaping futures, and watching transformation happen in real time. I’ve grown, stretched, evolved, and been humbled by the privilege of doing this work.

Every year reminds me that learning isn’t just for students…it’s for me, too. I’m still curious. Still inspired. Still committed to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to rise. Still one of the DOPEST Educators around! (I’m bias 😉)

I’m ready to embrace the next chapter of impact, innovation, and purpose. HAPPY FALL 2026!

Season 4 of Beyond the Lecture ends with a twist… I finally sat in the guest seat.

After a season of amplifying voices from various industries, this episode focused inward. I sat down with @asyanicolee and we talked about leadership, purpose, who I am, and the real effort behind creating spaces where students learn through lived experiences.

It was both strange and grounding.

If you’ve ever wondered what motivates my purpose, and the woman behind the mic… this one’s for you.

Purposeful over perfection.

What if the goal isn’t to be perfect—but to be intentional?

We sat the woman behind the podcast; Dr. Yah reminds us that purpose gives direction, while perfection often creates fear. Growth begins when we stop waiting for the perfect moment and start walking in our purpose.

It’s a WRAP! 🎬! Season 4 of Beyond the Lecture Podcast is finished and truly was a living example of what happens when leadership, innovation, and brilliance meet in the same space.

With our students as the audience and incredible guests from across industries bringing theory into practice, the classroom became a lab for communication, leadership, and authenticity. Every conversation, moment, exchange stretched us and reminded me why I lead the way I do.

My role as the Assistant Dean is to design spaces where students don’t just learn about leadership… they step into it!!! Where innovation isn’t just the latest buzzword, but a practice. Where industry voices meet student curiosity and something powerful happens.

This photo dump captures students rising, guests pouring their wisdom and expertise
and me guiding the experience with intention.

Season 4 was movement! Growth!
Leadership in real time.

True life…I get to do DOPE things for a living and I love everything about it 🖤
