Once upon a time, director Dudley Sauve cast me as Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar. Looking at this photo now - good grief, I really thought I was a rockstar. • Dudley passed away last week. He taught me how to be on stage, he opened my eyes to a world I knew nothing about, and, most importantly, he believed in me. I’m so grateful he got to see me on stage in recent years.

25 years ago - I was with this group of youngsters and we all sat around a tv and watched in horror and disbelief as the towers fell. I’ll never forget those images and I’ll never forget how these folks helped me and each other get through the days that followed. I have never forgotten that terrible day, and I will never forget these people. They were the best. — Love each other folks. Come From Away - Summer ‘26 @vareptheatre • One month since we closed our show. I think our director @rickhammerly said it best when he described our show as not having one star, but instead, it had an all-star cast. 16 beautiful, talented, hardworking stars. I can’t think of a harder, more complex show I’ve done or one that was met with such immediate love from our audiences, friends, and community. This cast ya’ll; they have my heart. From the first day, the work and time and dedication everyone put into the show was mind-boggling. I struggled, we all struggled, and these folks lifted each other up time and time again; the whole company did. - Now to be nominated for 12 Richmond theatre awards; just so much Gratitude. Gratitude. Gratitude. - I got to be a part of and tell this story of compassion at a time when this country needs it the most, and at the same time during a hard summer when I needed to keep compassion and grace with me. They all lifted me more than they’ll ever know. Y’all, this experience will stay with me for a long, long time.

(Ps: Kudos to @iamcomplexi who I hear aptly alt-titled our show “Go From Nearby”)

RIP Tim Curry
One of my earliest memories is the vcr-recorded version of Annie from some movie-of-the-week showing on tv that my mom made for me. It was the first time I saw a musical and that movie has always been part of my dna, truly hard-wired in. Tim Curry played Rooster and Mr. Curry ended up being a big part of my life; he was always there. A few years later I discovered the movie Clue (still one of my top 5 films to this day), and there he was teaching me about comedy. Next came Rocky Horror, where he taught us all to be our weirdest, best selves. Then I saw the movie IT, and he terrified me more than I’ve ever been terrified in my life. Then on a rewatch of Muppet Treasure Island, there he was again. In her later years, a Christmas tradition I had with my mom was watching the two Home Alone films, and there he was again. Mr. Curry has always been there, always entertaining surely, but also providing memories. #TimCurry was one of our most versatile actors, and always chose such interesting, diverse projects. It’s a huge loss, but I’m going to celebrate a wonderful, artistic life well-lived. Thank you Mr. Curry. #dontdreamitbeit by @itseddiewebster

There were so many elements that came together for Come From Away @vareptheatre but where would be without our vocal work. @elliekahn_ and @bonjourerica deserve MOUNTAINS of credit for the singing and the dialects in the show. Come From Away is scored down to the word and Ellie drilled us and wouldn’t accept anything less than our best. The Newfoundland dialect is tricky and specific and Erica spent hours with us to get it just right. There were even real-life Newfoundlanders who saw the show and complimented us on how good we sounded - I know my performance was nothing without their time and talent. Immense gratitude for their patience and working with me. Worked hard to make them proud.
