With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved linesister, Ashley (Taylor) Trott, our “AKA Barbie.” A Spring 2007 initiate of the “Sweet” Alpha Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Ashley embodied excellence, sisterhood, and purpose. Her joy was infectious, she brightened the lives of everyone she met, and positivity was truly her superpower.

Though she was called home far too soon, we celebrate the incredible woman she was and the lasting impact she made. May God comfort her family, loved ones, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her light and spirit will remain with us always.

Once Upon A DIME…in Hollywood ✨
*
I’m horrible at bucketlisting. I’m great at adding things to the list but not so great at getting them checked off. I’ve lived in many major cities and still haven’t seen the main tourist attractions in most of them. One of the things on my LA list has been to see a movie at the Chinese Theater, and even though my first apartment here was only two blocks away, I somehow never made it inside. Last night, after ten years in LA, that finally changed. The wide-eyed me who moved here with nothing but dreams never would have imagined that the first movie I’d see inside the most iconic theater in the world would be my own. Sometimes, things that come late are so worth the wait. Thank you to @thebhfilmfest for this incredible opportunity. We are so grateful ✅✨ taken in TCL Chinese Theatres by @itslaurenjulia
