Finished off 2025 with this community mural on the Central Coast. That takes it to 3 public murals that i’ve painted on the coast now!

As usual, the rough brick facade, unsheltered wall & balmy summer weather all played their part in yet another challenging install, but we pushed through and put the finishing touches on during the final day of 2025 🎉

So grateful that @bekopenshaw was down for the assist on this project, it wouldn’t have been as fun or as quick without her jumping in and giving me a hand ❤️

Also big thanks to @bottleo_killarneyvale for the vision and the wall 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻

NEW MURAL

A cool little private commission on the Central Coast this past couple weeks. 🌱

The unpredictable winter weather kept me on my toes and the thirsty bricks & DEEP mortar lines had the paint slapped on THICC.

Always a pleasure to paint close to home, for lovely clients with incredible views (and a brand new deck to compliment the art) 😉 Thanks for lookin’! taken in Central Coast, NSW by @itsmattyess

Welcome to!

I always wondered what artists were talking about when they used the term “activation” for their art installations.

But while completing my biggest wall yet receiving more gratitude, kind words and gifts from the locals than I can count, I now understand what a community-based project can activate. Hope, pride and connection.

This one took a long time, months. The weather gods were determined to hand me setback after setback, and that mentally tested me. With relentless winter rain & strong winds, combined with a high traffic car park / pedestrian area, the pressure was on to not spill a drop of paint whenever there was a gap in the weather & the odds felt stacked against me.

But I pushed on and HAND PAINTED this 70m2 mural for the folks of Wamberal and the wider Central Coast.

This wall receives roughly 15,000 eye balls each day and it’s an honour to display something of mine for so many people to see for free on their daily commute 🙏🏼

None of this would have been possible without the local community’s support. Huge thanks to:

@kes_masters who funded the entire project

@villageemporium who saw the vision & donated their tired old graf covered wall + a bunch of their coffee

@shinebrightnsw who donated their heavy duty equipment to remove said graffiti and 10+ year old clear coating, HUGE thanks

Welcome to Killarney~vale, Central Coast 🌴

Supported by @bottleo_killarneyvale 💚

Nothing bad can come from wanting your community to look nicer. Art creates culture and fosters a sense of community, whether it’s conscious or not. Your home, your business, your school, it all makes more sense when art sets the tone and guides the way.

Feel free to DM about how a mural can help your business, your home, like literally anywhere 🎨 taken in Central Coast, NSW by @itsmattyess

My first design of 2025 💐

Every design I create is connected to my personal journey. Sometimes, it’s a direct reflection of what I’m experiencing; other times, it’s a concept that needs far more attention to be brought into reality.

After a few challenging months, I’ve been reminded of the power of slowing down and accepting life as it unfolds. By keeping a calm mind during chaotic times and gently moving toward my goals, even when progress stagnates ~ I’ve discovered that clarity and beauty always reveal themselves in time.

I’d love to see this design reimagined as a mural! DM me to chat! taken in Central Coast, NSW by @itsmattyess

Snaps from the last project for 2025 🫱🏽‍🫲🏻

Last year had its challenges and teachable moments as they all do. Glad I could end it doing what I love, with who I love.

Excited to feel like I’m levelling up and aiming bigger 🌟

An old print I designed last year that I always seem to return to. The world’s chaos, and desperate for peace, both our inner and outer worlds are starting to look the same from the pressure that keeps building.

So at times when I feel like it’s a lot, or even too much, I seek peace however possible, but more often than not it’s in the quiet of nature 🌲 taken in Darkinjung Country by @itsmattyess

NEW DESIGN ABOUT DRUGS!

I take a lot of medication that prevents me being stuck on a machine for the rest of my life.

People I know and love take medication so they can function enough to perform daily activities without feeling like they’re melting down.

Medications can good, but they also have the potential to be very bad for you.

Growth isn’t always comfortable, but neither is staying stuck.

Whether it’s a creative risk, a mental health road block, or a career move, staying in the same place out of fear, staying in the same place out of fear can be more costly than trying and failing.

Take the leap, you’ll either land where you want to, or learn something valuable along the way. taken in Central Coast, NSW by @itsmattyess
