In April 2027, I’m running the London Marathon for Team Alzheimer’s Research UK.

I’m running for my mom. For my aunts, Janis and Deb. For my uncles Bill, Joe and Norm. For my cousin Erika. For my grandmothers. For every member of my family who lives each day knowing that another diagnosis could come. And for anyone whose life has been affected by this disease.

Alzheimer’s has taken far too much from my family. Running 26.2 miles will not change what we have already lost, but it gives me a chance to help change what comes next. It gives me a chance to honor those whom we have lost.

Every mile and every dollar raised will support the research needed to find better treatments and help find a cure.

This morning as I was leaving my apartment, my protein shake exploded in my bag and I didn’t notice it until I got to my car and then I had to go back upstairs and clean my bag and everything that was in it before going back downstairs to my car so then go to track and run a whole lot of left-hand turns faster than I wanted to in very humid weather.
