how-to tips + info below! ✨ I got this idea a lil while ago when I was thinking of the name “Carrier Pigeon” and I just couldn’t get this costume out of my head… so here it is! 😚 tag me if you end up using this idea - I’d absolutely love to see your costumes!! 🫶🏻 🐦 outfit details 🐦 (I made a list of everything purchasable that I used for this costume on Shopmy!) pigeon mask base - Amazon blue button up - thrifted navy pants - thrifted black boots - Doc Martens navy bag - thrifted mail hat - Amazon 💡 tips 💡 -I made all of the patches & logos by printing out the designs onto transfer paper then ironing them on my shirt and bag -I threw together a PDF with all of the logos, patches, and stamps I used to make it easier for you to put together your costume! it’s totally free to download and linked in my bio :) -the base pigeon mask I used was actually about $10 on Amazon - let me know if you’d like a video breaking down how I made it more realistic! the basic things I did were: re-paint everything, add feathers to conceal my neck, and add sheer matching fabric to cover the eye holes (I used chiffon) -of course, if you’re not based in the U.S. just alter your outfit to fit your local couriers uniforms! -for the fake mail, I printed silly 8.5” x 8.5” pigeon photos and folded them into envelopes (you can find tutorials for this online). I also printed out a bunch of little vintage bird stamps I found online, glued a couple onto each envelope, then finished by writing bird-themed fake addresses. You absolutely don’t have to get so detailed with it, but I was having so much fun I just couldn’t stop! heheheee by @itsmollybelle

oops! I made yet another dress out of bedsheets 😚✨ at long last, I FINALLY tracked down another one of these toile Ikea duvet covers on Ebay! yipeeeee!! 🙌🏻🥳 the long version of this skirt that I made previously is wonderful, but all of that fabric can be kinda cumbersome to wear at times so I’m totally thrilled to have a mini version now (plus matching bloomers!!) 🫶🏻 p.s. I’m working on getting my patterns for the skirt + bloomers perfected so I can hopefully share them with you all!! this iteration is already sooo much better - I think there’s only a few more changes I want to make before they’re great! yay!!🤞🏻💖 by @itsmollybelle

giving all my little treasures a pretty place to call home ✨ thank you so much to @godlynaturesjewelry for gifting me their wonderfully whimsical jewelry! the design for this little jewelry box was actually directly inspired by their Gothic Arch velvet choker necklace 🏰 if you’d like to check them out for yourself, you can use my code MOLLY16 for 16% off! 🫶🏻 more info + tips below: ⚒️ materials ⚒️ -you’ll need a sturdy little tin box. I had this one already, but you could also use an old Altoids tin! -metal sheets for embossing (mine are .3mm thick aluminum, and I glued two together for extra resilience) -embossing tools -needle nose pliers -strong super glue (I like B7000) -hot glue gun -a print out of the design you want to emboss (I drew mine on Procreate) -any fabrics, trims, or artwork you want to add to your design 💡 tips 💡 -Tape your design print out onto your aluminum sheets, then trace over the entire design with a pen. You should end up with a faint scored imprint on the metal you can use as a guide afterwards. -Use your embossing tools to over your guide on the metal to create depth and dimension. Be careful not to overwork the metal or you may accidentally tear a hole! -Once you’re happy with your embossing, cut out your design, then use needle nose pliers to turn over the sharp edges -Decorate your tin with any trims or materials you’d like, just be careful not to glue anything near the box opening so as not to interfere with it opening and closing (…speaking from experience) -To create the ring holders, use hot glue to tightly roll up long fabric strips of your choice. You don’t need to add as much glue as you’d think, just some at the beginning, middle, and end. Make your strips slightly wider than your the width of your tin, then carefully trim down later for the perfect fit. -Admire your new trinket tin! :) this was the first time I’ve ever tried embossing - it turned out a little imperfect, but I love it even more that way ☺️ have you tried embossing before?
