This summer, Rhythm of The People took its first big swing.

ROTP is built off a simple belief: human connection is not a luxury. It is an essential need — and we have to be intentional about creating it.

We wanted to create spaces where people could move, gather, learn, spend time with friends and neighbors, meet someone new, and remember what it feels like to simply be together.

Hustle on The Pier was our first go at bringing that mission to life.

We didn’t know what would happen. For our first gathering, we prepared for maybe 12–20 people.
Instead, all of you showed up ♥️

Across four gatherings, we watched strangers dance together, people return with friends, artists share their work, DJs build worlds on the dance floor, beginners try Hustle for the first time, and a little piece of Seattle’s waterfront become a place to gather.

None of it happened because of one person.
So before we close this chapter, we want to say Thank You.

We’re excited to announce not 1, not 2, but 4 events this summer: Hustle on The Pier! 💃🏻🎡 🌊

We’re partnering with @waterfrontparkseattle to host four free, open-air dance socials right on Seattle’s waterfront, and we’d love to see you there!

📆 July 18th, July 26th, Aug 15th, & Sept 12th
⏰ 3:00 - 6:30 pm
📍 Pier 58 (1401 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA)

Come through for a 1-hour Beginner Hustle lesson followed by a 2.5-hour open social with a local DJ! No experience needed. No partner required. Just show up ready to move and have a good time! ✨

The idea behind this is pretty simple: we just wanted to create a space for people to move, connect, and be present with each other.

Two weeks in Japan in two minutes.

In October, we joined @lolathethebeast in her home country of Cyprus and had the best time together.

Thank you for letting us into your world for a week! This trip was singularly special; I’ll forever be dreaming about flying through the mountains in your tiny blue convertible, feeding cats on the beach, and floating in the Mediterranean. ✨ by @itspchew

On the side of the road in Hakone is a traveling cafe tucked inside a 1967 Airstream “Caravel”, Cafe Ryusenkei.

The space was cozy and thoughtfully designed and the owner was generous and friendly. And of course, he made a damn good cup of coffee and delicious ham and cheese sandwiches.

Stepping into it was one of the highlights of our time in Hakone! by @itspchew

Jun and I briefly crossed paths in Portland 13 years ago and haven’t seen each other since. But we stayed connected through IG, following each other through a bunch of different creative endeavors and chapters of life.

So it was a treat to reconnect with him and visit his studio in Tokyo where he makes amazing bags and paints letters. Thank you, @d___dles for showing us around, sharing your energy, ans letting me film a slice of your world. Find him @tokyonegi and @rucksack_village to see his amazing work! by @itspchew
