Today we said goodbye to Andy Rourke. I had the privilege of knowing Andy and his wonderful partner Fran.

Andy was an incredible person; clever, kind and deeply funny. His friendship with my dad was uniquely special. They were brothers, and seeing them stand together in these last few months has been a profoundly moving experience.

I’m grateful for the joy Andy brought into our lives. The joy is what I’ll remember. by @itssonnyhere

I knew it was going to be emotional, but I wasn’t prepared for the feeling I got seeing our family name emblazoned on flags outside the iconic @christiesinc building. Attending the launch of MARR’S GUITARS: The Johnny Marr Collection was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We had the honour of doing it surrounded by people who have supported the family in life and work since long before I was born.

I thought it would be bittersweet seeing dad’s guitars on display in a gallery; instruments that I’ve grown up with, loved and lived with for so long. Someone described it as saying goodbye to my siblings, and while that doesn’t quite ring true, I understand the sentiment.

The amazing thing about being my dad’s daughter is that people tell me stories about what his music has meant to them. It’s a joy and a privilege, and frequently very moving.

Thursday night was the last time those songs will ever be heard being played exactly as they sound on the records. As the guitars rang out around the room, I was watching everyone’s faces. People were transported back to their childhoods, weddings, funerals, good times, remembering people they’ve loved and lost.

A fair few tears were shed that night, but none by me. As I left the iconic building, I took a moment to think about how I felt, knowing that the guitars would soon be gone.

The truth is, all I could feel was pride. Pride in the music, pride in the legacy, and above all, proud of you, dad.

Happy Father’s Day, and happy Father’s week to my amazing dad. Spin is out, new album announced, 40 years since The Queen Is Dead, and the most incredible Gorillaz show at Tottenham stadium. You switch so effortlessly from playing to 70,000 people, to hugging me tight when I need it (which was a lot this week). Thanks for everything @johnnymarrgram I love you xx by @itssonnyhere

I have been to many fashion things lately. Deep down I’m still the Saturday girl at @fredperry earning £5 per hour and curating shop playlists whilst obsessively looking at magazines on my lunch break. Never thought I’d ever be invited to shows.

Around 18 months ago, I got a call from @alistairnorbury asking if I’d go to Paris to meet Jean-Michel Jarre. He had an incredible idea for a book and asked if I’d help bring it to life. I kind of couldn’t believe it.

What followed was months of planning and dreaming, trips to @jeanmicheljarre’s studio in Paris, exciting deals, and even playing (and cleaning) instruments. None of it felt like work.

It’s hard to describe just how much I love working with Jean-Michel. He’s a genius, a true artist, and you can’t fail to be inspired when you’re around him. I can also confirm that his reputation for being a great guy is 100% true. He’s kind, generous and very, very funny.

I am absolutely bursting with pride that this book has finally been announced. I just really love my job.
