Meet Blood Plum & Ghost Pepper - the one we probably shouldn’t have made 👻

A special Halloween release, risen from the depths of the kitchen as our hottest sauce ever. Deep, dark plum leads with that rich jammy sweetness, then the ghost pepper shows up a few seconds later and makes itself known.

Fair warning, this one’s got teeth. One taste tester said it straight: “The heat for this sauce actually feels scary.” But don’t let that fool you - it’s still fruit first, chilli second. The plum always hits before the heat catches up.

For the brave only. Wings, ribs, dumplings & anything off the grill, or wherever you’re feeling game.

100 bottles in the car and three hours of driving ahead - for one delivery I could’ve just posted.

But this is my favourite part of the job. Wherever I can, I still do the deliveries myself. As we pick up more stockists it’s not always possible, but when it is, I’ll take the drive every time - because it means I actually get to meet the people putting our sauces on their shelves.

Today it was Winespeake in Daylesford. We’d only ever spoken over email, so this was the first time meeting Jen in person and saying thank you properly.

You don’t get that from a shipping label. A box on a doorstep is just a box. But showing up, shaking a hand, seeing where your sauce is going to live - that’s the stuff that actually matters to me.

I’ve had my eye on these guys since the very beginning - which makes sense, considering we used to live right next door. Their love for all things BBQ runs deep, and they know their stuff - plus, they’re just. Great bunch of human beings!

Full range is on their shelves now - all five flavours - with taste testers available so you can find your perfect match before buying. Handy, given Cherry & Chipotle was practically made for the kind of cooking these guys are all about.

this is my take on a jalapeno cream cheese bacon jam smashie

inspo by @walters.diner creation

2x 80g patties hit the @weberbbqausnz slate grill with thinly sliced onions and fresh sliced jalapenos and pressed hard

they then got some seasoning and laid on top some burger cheese and steamed

then the top and bottom bun were lathered in a mixture of cream cheese and @jammedup_baconjam peach inferno bacon jam

while the patties got drenched in @itsthetastystuff kiwi & jalapeno hot sauce (YUM)

and we ended up like this.

Ham? Yes. Cheese? Absolutely. Ham and cheese together? That’s the dream.

Berries & Habanero was built for this exact combination - deep, sweet berry flavour against salty ham and melted cheese, with a bit of habanero heat cutting through the richness. It’s the reason I say this one belongs on a cheeseboard, and honestly a toastie is just a cheeseboard that got ambitious.

If you’ve got ham and cheese in the fridge, you’ve already got half a great meal. This is the other half 🫐

It’s been just over a month since Cherry & Chipotle dropped, so let’s talk about the star of the show.

Cherries bring this deep, rich sweetness that’s completely different from the bright, sharp fruits in the rest of our range (looking at you Passionfruit). Darker, rounder, almost jammy - it gives the sauce its body and that BBQ-adjacent character without any artificial help.

But the real reason they lead this one? They stand up to smoke. Chipotle brings serious warmth and depth, and most fruits would disappear underneath it. Cherries hold their ground - matching the intensity, balancing the heat, keeping things rich without tipping into just sweet. Any other fruit would result in a far less complex sauce.

Cherry & Chipotle has had an incredible launch, so it felt right to highlight the main character 🍒

Cheers to our newest stockist, Winespeake 🍷

After a handful of recommendations and a weekend getaway to Daylesford, I finally got to see what Jen was building with Winespeake - and immediately knew Tasty would feel right at home there. (More to that story soon.)

It’s part bottle shop, part deli, part wine bar - a spot to find a new favourite bottle and a cosy nook to actually drink it in, with some seriously good charcuterie on the side.

Whether you’re in Daylesford for the day or the weekend, go check them out. Relax inside or out, have a glass of wine, and do yourself a favour and order the mulled wine. Phenomenal.

Introducing the Pick Your Hot Sauce Pack 🎁

The gift for someone who puts hot sauce on everything - or for someone who says they don’t like spicy food but has never been given a good reason to change their mind.

This one’s been a long time coming. Huge thanks to @dngr_goods for bringing it to life - the amount of work behind getting this right was no joke, and it shows.
