Was lucky to catch the last train of warm and dry weather in Barcelona with 11 days of hilly roads (credits to @velodrom.cc) and coffee overkills (thx, @nomadcoffee).
The end of 2021 is going to be crazy with approximately 12 flights left and I gotta say that flying isn’t fun at all anymore. Kinda miss the times when airports and planes were something special and, you know, this feeling of sweet expectance

Our Way To Zegama by @templerunninggirona + @acg

This might be the first time before a race I genuinely asked myself whether I could actually pull it off. Neither in serious, nor in amateur sport — that question had never really been on the table.

600+ kilometers in 56 hours, two nights of sleep deprivation, storm winds, rain, burning sun, every terrain type you can name — none of it was making things easier.

And easy it wasn’t. At least not at first. What got it done was good company, a fair share of self-convincing, and a serious amount of pain numbing gel. I started May with 0km of mileage, and between the 14th and 16th I put down 100 kilometers and 1700 meters of elevation. Same tremendous work by my teammates — and we made it to Zegama.

What stays off camera: thorns stuck in my legs, private property trespassing, that smell inside the team van after two days of running, the bathroom breaks in the middle of nowhere, some bruised toenails and other stuff you may not wanna know about. Big things come at a cost, after all.

I appreciate everyone who was on the road with me, teams B/C/D, everyone who made the whole project possible, and everyone who was invested in what we were going through.
