We’ve been working on a very special collaboration with @lindahsiao and @twentyonetonnes for this and are so excited to get to finally take them out of the studio and into the world.

Thank you to @thoughtforms_studio @chevill @chrisin323 and @cathy_callahan for inviting us to give our work a seat at this table. ♥️ @ladesignweekend by @itsyourbuddysystem

“These pieces are a collaboration across continents.

SWOPA has spent generations turning elephant grass into containers.
In Los Angeles we took that structure and shaped it by hand until the form started reading as a gesture, something caught mid-motion.

Two vocabularies of craft meeting in one object.”

“We’re inspired by the energy and the generosity of the LA design and art community”.

“We love the visual story of a flower’s process; from bud to bloom, going from seed to skeleton. We’re inspired by the all-too-familiar feeling of being inside of a changing body, and all the seasons of life, shown through flowers of the native California landscape”.

“Los Angeles is the ultimate collaboration space. We’re never at a loss for inspiration, advice, materials, a skilled hand, a common dream and immense support. When we lost our studio in the Eaton Fire we never would’ve gotten back on our feet without our artistic community. They, like us, choose Los Angeles because they know they’ll be held up in kind, if needed. We’re here for the work. We’re here for each other”.
