Big moment. Big lesson.

From signing for Chelsea F.C. as a young boy with a dream… to facing the heartbreak of being released.

The badge changed. The status changed. But the calling didn’t.

Sometimes God will give you the platform… then test your foundation. ⚽🙏🏾

In the last few years, Jesus has completely changed my life! I had to go public !

Here’s my story…
Before I truly knew Jesus, my life was full of things I put before God, which pulled me farther and farther away from Him. Even though I grew up in a Christian home, I relied more on the faith of my family than my own. I was living to satisfy my flesh rather than walking in step with His Spirit.
I first encountered Jesus at a young age, but it wasn’t until I came to Furman University in 2021 that I began to truly experience His transforming power in my life. It was here that I started to see the kind of man He was calling me to become, one shaped by His character and not the world’s.

I believe that when God wants to help someone grow, He sends people into their life to disciple, model, and love them in a way only He can. That’s exactly what He did for me—starting with my brother @imj.glenn cousin @jason.sbc , and then through guys on the team like @calli_p11 who showed up for 7am Friday Bible studies ,consistently invited me to church, and most importantly, lived out his faith with quiet consistency, patience, and zero judgment. My coaches and Rick Slagle also poured into me, loving me in ways I had never experienced before and always pointing back to Jesus as the reason why.
It wasn’t an overnight change and trust me, I’ve had my share of resistance and things he’s still working on but by His grace and mercy, I’ve slowly begun to surrender more of myself to Him.

Since then, God has been transforming me from the inside out and using me in ways I never expected. I’m humbled, grateful and excited for what’s next.

I was baptised this week to publicly declare that Jesus is Lord of my life and to stop running from the conviction the Holy Spirit has been placing on my heart for the past three years to get in the water! by @ivan.agy6

Notes from the week.

Tuesday at fellowship we talked about crucifying the need for credit.

Amateurs crave recognition. Professionals show up whether anyone claps or not.

And here's what I noticed: if you need the praise, you're also controlled by the criticism. It's the same need. Kill it and both lose their grip.

This week, do one thing nobody will see. Don't post it. Don't mention it.

What's the one thing you keep waiting to be noticed for? Tell me below.

I used to think willpower was the plan. Three weeks in, it would disappear, and so would the goal.

Then I stopped relying on how I felt and built the system instead: wake, worship, pray, open the Bible, train. Same order, every day, whether I feel like it or not.

Zechariah 4:6: not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit is a system builder. Walk with him and he will lead you to build the right habits, not just run on willpower.

Willpower runs out. The system doesn't.

Which habit are you missing? Follow for more on faith, purpose and discipline as a Christian man.

What did his parents say after Chelsea let him go?
Signed at 8. Then released. Then Norwich, Barnet, Palace and trials abroad: no, no, no. So he moved across the world to play D1 soccer at Furman University.
His parents never said failure. They said footballer. At 24 he signed his first professional contract.
If you just got cut, it's information about now, not a verdict on you. A no can mean not yet.

Notes from the week. This one came from our Tuesday call on Ephesians 6.

It reads like a team sheet. The armour is your defence. The Word is your attack. Prayer is your training.

And you can't sharpen your sword in the middle of the battle. The reps happen before game day.

Which one have you been skipping? Take Action this week

I had two pro offers and a shoulder that needed surgery.

At 24, Chelsea, Norwich, Barnet and Palace had all said no. We lost to Marshall and it felt like now or never. The next day a club reached out. Then the Greenville Triumph coach walked into the Furman office with a contract. I told him I needed surgery. He said go have it, let's sign this contract.

God likes to sign unlikely stories. If you're staring at a closed door, keep showing up.

A mentor once told me: Get in rooms where you’re not the most talented, intelligent or wealthy; because wisdom, growth, and elevation are contagious.

“Walk with the wise and become wise…” — Proverbs 13:20
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17
