“Le Jardin” a limited series of hand sculpted nightlights, made from up-cycled glass and solar power. In collaboration with @TaraSubkoff for @imitationofchrist, unveiled at @theholenyc @nyfw.

Gathered impressions of nature during botanical hikes, this series was inspired by a desire to create biophilic sculpture using the power of the sun with up-cycled materials. A process of crushing waste glass into powders, then firing the kilns with solar generators and sculpting molten glass into leaf and flower impressions.

Musings with @tarasubkoff to bring more hope and light into darker days, manifested into a celebration at The Hole Tribeca.

Designed & Fabricated by Ivan Lee Mora
Conceptualized by Tara Subkoff

Tree of Derivation by Ivan Lee Mora @obsydianstudios

A site-specific commission referencing the Carl Woese 6 Kingdoms classifications. Sculpted from reclaimed wood to represent the 6 kingdoms with a light within the center base to illustrate the original spark of life, the Universal Ancestor.
As a metaphor this artwork hopes to illustrate the immense potential in a single idea, technique/technology or location to spark new innovations that can revolutionize life. Innovations that inspire numerous fields of research and discovery. A sculpture that can represent how a variety of philosophies clustered together will advance science by gathering many great minds into one campus in order to spark collaborations that advance the future of science. To hopefully bring about a healthier and happier world. by @ivanleemora
