The process. From solar powered generators, lost wax, kiln casts into up-cycled glass leaf impressions. Scenes in the studio of “Le Jardin” this LA summer. Unveiled as a limited nightlight series at @theholenyc for @imitationofchristofficial @nyfw Contact @obsydianstudios for inquires. by @obsydianstudios
“Le Jardin” a limited series of hand sculpted nightlights, made from up-cycled glass and solar power. In collaboration with @TaraSubkoff for @imitationofchrist, unveiled at @theholenyc @nyfw. Gathered impressions of nature during botanical hikes, this series was inspired by a desire to create biophilic sculpture using the power of the sun with up-cycled materials. A process of crushing waste glass into powders, then firing the kilns with solar generators and sculpting molten glass into leaf and flower impressions. Musings with @tarasubkoff to bring more hope and light into darker days, manifested into a celebration at The Hole Tribeca. Designed & Fabricated by Ivan Lee Mora Conceptualized by Tara Subkoff For inquiries, contact @obsydianstudios Thank you to @blowsomeglass at Los Angeles GlassBlowing Studios, and Devon Ray for studio assisting. #SketchToSculpture Process Video by @obsydianstudios

Meet our first Eco-Artist in Residence, Actress @lizlazan 🍁 Her piece embodies the mission of this residency: to support creatives working with regenerative, natural and/or material-conscious elements. She worked with our kilns, salvaged materials, and natural objects, to create her artwork, guided by process, ritual, and curiosity. A meaningful beginning to this program and excited for it to grow into more.
