Yes, that hurt😑. He hit my shin with his heel. It's still blue🔵

The kid was okay, still I apologised to him later a couple times, he did not deserve my unbridled ire.

Later I talked to the guy too, after I had cooled down. He apologised and he was unhurt. Let's hope he learned a lesson and will never endanger someone else again like this

One of the biggest mistakes I made as a facilitator was believing a breakthrough could be encouraged before a man’s body was ready for it.

The room wanted something to happen.

I wanted something to happen.

So I pushed.

He opened.

From the outside, it looked powerful. People would probably have called it a breakthrough.

Looking back, I wouldn’t.

It was overwhelm.

His body had opened because it no longer had the capacity to hold everything together, not because it finally felt safe enough to let go.

That experience changed the way I facilitate.

I stopped measuring transformation by how emotional a man became.

I became far more interested in whether his nervous system had enough safety and capacity to move at its own pace.

Real change can’t be forced.

It can’t be performed.

And it certainly can’t be rushed to satisfy the expectations of a room.

Sometimes the deepest shift happens when you realise you don’t have to push through yourself anymore.

That you can stay with what is happening in your body without abandoning yourself to get somewhere.

That is a big part of the work we do inside Rites of Passage.

Not pushing you towards a breakthrough.

Creating the conditions where you can meet what is actually there, at the pace your system is ready for.

I used to think rest was something I had to earn.
That first I had to prove myself. Then maybe I could stop.

For years, I built my identity around being the man who could carry everything.
The man who never asked for help.
The man who always had it together.

From the outside, it looked like strength. Inside, it was exhausting.

Then one day, another man looked me in the eyes and said,
“You’ve done enough.”

I felt something break.
Not because of the words.
Because I finally stopped carrying it alone.

Looking back,
I don’t think I was carrying responsibility. I was carrying the belief that if I stopped, everything would fall apart.

I see this pattern in men I work with all the time. They call it responsibility. They call it leadership. They call it being a provider.

Sometimes it’s simply a man who has forgotten what it feels like to be supported.

That’s why brotherhood matters. Not because you need saving. Because you need somewhere you don’t have to pretend that carrying everything alone is strength.

That’s part of why I created Rites of Passage.

For six days in Portugal, you’ll be surrounded by men who are willing to witness you, challenge you, and stand beside you while you put down some of what you’ve been carrying alone.

3 WAYS TO DO A FLASHKICK🔥

These are the three most used ways to do a flash kick:
1. Doing a back layover and opening the legs in the air
2. Going for a stall backflip and then making an active kick towards your face with your kicking leg
3. Spotting over the shoulder and doing a sort of slanted backflip and aerial combination

WHICH SNAPU/RAIZ TWIST VARIATION IS THE BEST?

Trying to collect these variations like infinity stones. Which ones should I hunt or do next?😏💪🏻

My fave of these is the parafuso twist at the moment. Although the stalled/arched one is also really dope. I need to do it better again though
