Bringing Boxing Back to the People 🥊

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It was an honour to welcome the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, to A Night of Solidarity at the Houses of Parliament.

His powerful speech captured what the evening was truly about: remembering the lives lost at Grenfell, standing alongside the people of North Kensington and supporting the community organisations that have done so much for local people.

The evening also showed the incredible power boxing has to unite people from different backgrounds and bring entire communities together behind an important cause.

We are extremely grateful to the Mayor for his words and support.

Now, we need that support to turn into action. Please donate and help these remarkable organisations continue their vital work throughout North Kensington. by @ivbboxing

A huge thank you to everyone who made this extraordinary evening possible.

To every guest, speaker, boxer, coach, sponsor, supporter and member of the team — thank you for standing with the people of North Kensington and the organisations that continue to support them.

Putting a boxing ring inside the Houses of Parliament for the first time was a historic moment. It also demonstrated the unique power boxing has to bring people and communities together behind a shared cause.

The evening may be over, but the fundraising must continue.

Please donate if you can and help these incredible organisations continue their vital work across North Kensington. Every donation will make a genuine difference. by @ivbboxing

The Mayor of London and the man who wrote Ali's life story, sitting ringside in the House of Lords.

Sadiq Khan came to Ringside on The River Terrace on 3 September, the first time a full size boxing ring has seen action in the Palace of Westminster.

Across from him, Thomas Hauser: boxing writer, historian, and Muhammad Ali's authorised biographer. They talked. They laughed. They signed each other's books.

It was all for 13 November. A Night of Solidarity, Kensington Town Hall, London. North Kensington Select v London Fire Brigade, 24 boxers, 12 bouts, sanctioned by England Boxing, in support of North Kensington youth sport and firefighter welfare.

BBC London, this morning.

"For the first time ever, a boxing ring was set up in the House of Lords last night."

That was Ringside on The River Terrace, part of the road to A Night of Solidarity.

Lord Andy Roe, Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade from 2020 to 2025 and now a member of the House of Lords, on Dale Youth: the club destroyed and then rebuilt under the flyover, where they trained in a car park in the days after the fire.

"An amazing community club set up by Ernie Harris and Mick Delaney. Smashing people, and representative of the sort of community and people that are down there."

Thank you to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and to the London Fire Brigade for standing behind this.

The main event is Friday 13 November 2026. Kensington Town Hall, London. North Kensington Select v London Fire Brigade, 24 boxers, 12 bouts, sanctioned by England Boxing, in support of North Kensington youth sport and firefighter welfare.
