Long post warning!!!
My heart is so full!!!! Over the past couple of days, I went back to my hometown to adjudicate the Fresno City Jazz Festival, via invitation from Lucckesi. I was so flattered because I feel like I have been waiting for this moment my whole life.

I would try to volunteer for jazz festivals as a kid and sit behind judges and formulate thoughts about bands I was hearing and see if they would match up with the adjudicators. And on Thursday and Friday, I found myself sitting alongside some of those adjudicators I sat behind!

I got to work with some old friends' groups and meet some new bands and do my best to give them great clinics. I heard some middle schoolers tear up some charts and shred, and I heard some high schoolers play incredible things! Shoutout @gosledd and @evan_hamada !

As I write this, I can feel some tears well up because I feel like the Marco I was as a child is really proud of how I turned out today. I can't thank Paul Lucckesi, Mike Dana, Mike Galisatus, and Barb Catlin for being so amazing towards me and for an amazing time.

I could write a whole book on my experience, and I hope I get more opportunities like this to help aspiring jazz musicians to advance forwards.
