The first local (to me) indie bookstore to carry my books is @firesidebookshop in Chagrin Falls, OH. Super cute little shop with three half-stories, creaking hardwood floors, and tons of charm. 🥰 Give them a visit if you’re in the area. You won’t regret it!

I made an audiobook trailer! And I’m breaking my IG silence to show it to y’all. Sorry I’ve been absent. Life suddenly got really hard really fast, and I’m still working through some things that don’t leave me a lot of time for social media. But I am truly grateful for all my readers and friends on this app.

Speak of the Devil’s audiobook releases on May 5th. It’s beautifully narrated by @marnyeyoung and @espencooper. In celebration, the first two ebooks in the series are on a deep discount just about everywhere. So, if you’ve been considering getting any of my ebooks, now’s the time to grab ‘em. Today is a day to celebrate HUMAN voices - whether that’s through our literal voices, or an author’s voice, or an artist’s voice. Today we band together to let the world know we will not continue to support the theft of our colleagues by using AI in books or audiobooks. All day today your FYP will be flooded with narrators reading snippets from authors who have made the pledge to never use AI voices. You’ll hear brilliant writing brought to life in a way that only a real human can.

Why are we doing this? Because 🚨GENERATIVE AI IS THEFT🚨 and our community of authors, narrators, and artists have all been hit hard by this theft. It’s up to us to take a stand and refuse to use “virtual” or “digital” voices (every single platform that offers AI voices are built on stolen voices), refuse to buy AI written books (remember that time Meta stole from millions of authors?), and refuse to use AI character art or book covers (all AI artwork comes from real artists who did not give their consent to have their artwork used). We are trying to educate as many people as possible where all of this AI “art” is coming from in an effort to boycott its use.

Our choices matter and we, as a community, can choose NOT to use gen AI.

Please feel free to tag companies like Audible and Spotify in the comments letting them know your thoughts on the matter!

Thank you so much to every single author who has taken a stand with us audiobook narrators against the use of AI in audiobooks. My heart is so full right now!!! Your support is everything!
