Writer of romances about healing gods with stage fright, cheeky talking crows, ruthless librarian pirates, and perfectly monstrous angels.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🏴‍☠️ 💀 🏴‍☠️💀🏴‍☠️

I thought it would fun to celebrate all things sea faring with some of my favorite pirate reads. I have to say that it was hard to just pick a few but here is a list of some stories that I have loved with dark villains who will steal your heart, fierce FMCs who bow to no one, swoon worthy romance and action filled plots that will keep you guessing until the very last page!

What I love about the fantasy space is just how many unique ways authors have brought to life pirate tales. Whether it’s the magic filled world of mercenary warlords in Charlotte Mallory’s The Improper Bastards series. Or LJ Andrew’s The Ever Seas series, a tale of warring clans which starts with a sea fae king stealing the daughter of his sworn enemy. Or the cozy gothic world of Isobel Lynn’s The Tyranny of Angels series, where angels, humans and gods are set in a struggle for free will, power and dominance.

Or maybe you love it when powerful siren FMCs meet their matches in the form of cheeky and stubborn sailors and princes who can’t help but rise to the challenge! If that’s the case, then look no further than To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo or Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. I adored just how these FMCs were unapologetically themselves and never backed down.

I can guarantee you that in this mix there is something for everyone who likes their books with a bit of that danger that only a pirate’s life can bring. And, because I am me, all of these have delicious romance too! Trust me, none of these will disappoint!

Let me know what some of your favorite pirate reads are so I can add more to my TBR!

Happy Reading.

✨Book Title: Speak of the Devil ✍️Written by: @izzylynnauthor

Today is a day to celebrate HUMAN voices - whether that’s through our literal voices, or an author’s voice, or an artist’s voice. Today we band together to let the world know we will not continue to support the theft of our colleagues by using AI in books or audiobooks. All day today your FYP will be flooded with narrators reading snippets from authors who have made the pledge to never use AI voices. You’ll hear brilliant writing brought to life in a way that only a real human can.

Why are we doing this? Because 🚨GENERATIVE AI IS THEFT🚨 and our community of authors, narrators, and artists have all been hit hard by this theft. It’s up to us to take a stand and refuse to use “virtual” or “digital” voices (every single platform that offers AI voices are built on stolen voices), refuse to buy AI written books (remember that time Meta stole from millions of authors?), and refuse to use AI character art or book covers (all AI artwork comes from real artists who did not give their consent to have their artwork used). We are trying to educate as many people as possible where all of this AI “art” is coming from in an effort to boycott its use.

Our choices matter and we, as a community, can choose NOT to use gen AI.

Please feel free to tag companies like Audible and Spotify in the comments letting them know your thoughts on the matter!

Thank you so much to every single author who has taken a stand with us audiobook narrators against the use of AI in audiobooks. My heart is so full right now!!! Your support is everything!

How insane is this lineup for #HumanVoicesOnly??!! Thank you sooooooo much to all these wonderful authors for their incredible support! I cannot even begin to express my gratitude!

Human Voices Only is happening THIS Thursday! Expect to see your FYP flooded with HUMAN narrators performing HUMAN words and showing off some gorgeous HUMAN book covers and character art!

Why are we doing this? Because GENERATIVE AI IS THEFT and our community of authors, narrators, and artists have all been hit hard by this theft. It’s up to us to take a stand and refuse to use “virtual” or “digital” voices (without having taken voices without the consent of the voice actors these would not be possible), refuse to buy AI written books (remember that time Meta stole from millions of authors?), and refuse to use AI character art or book covers (all AI artwork comes from real artists who did not give their consent to have their artwork used).

Our choices matter and we, as a community, can choose NOT to use gen AI.

A huge massive gigantic thank you to all of the authors have entrusted me with their snippets!!

#COMINGSOON

“Bryony Moss didn’t plan to become a god, but accidents happen, and giving up immortality once you have it is easier said than done. Convinced her life is in danger, she infiltrates the crew of the infamous Black Armada with plans to dispatch their godhunter before she is discovered. But all her plans begin to unravel as soon as she learns the truth.

Far from the ruthless pirates she imagined, the Black Armada are akin to ruthless librarians, distributing banned books to fight the tyrannical rule of the angels. Once she’s in, Bryony can’t imagine killing any of them. She might even be tempted to join them for real. To top it off, she seems to be falling for the flagship’s navigator, a kind but isolated giant named Michael.”

Godhunter (A Tyranny of Angels Book 1) is the perfect blend of cozy & adventurous. This heartfelt #ParanormalRomance is written by the fabulous #IsobelLynn, with #SingleNarration by #AwardWinner Marnye Young.

I read quite a lot of fantasy this year, but somehow it’s contemporary romances that made my heart swoon the most. I really want to get back into more historical romances though because I’ve missed it, and after all the books I got in my advent calendar from the sweetest friend @a.rekindled.romance , I just need to dive into those in 2025.

I always pick a favorite read of the year, but this year I decided to give that title to a series! Please please please go check this one out because it deserves so much love. Each book only gets better, it has the best found family vibe and honestly made me so emotional because of how beautiful it is. Definitely a must! ——> A Tyranny of Angels 𝓫𝔂 @izzylynnauthor

❓What is one of your favorite books/series with found family?
‌
I looooove this series so much, and one of the things I love is the found family elements. Also check out THIRDS and also Four Kings by Charlie Cochet, Beacon Hill by Sheena Jolie, Red Dirt Heart series by NR Walker, Hitmans Guide by Alice Winters lol
‌
Thank you again so much @izzylynnauthor for sending me the third book in this series! I can’t recommend this one enough - read in order!! - and I think you’ll fall in love with these characters.
‌
If you’re a fan of
- Found family
- Angels and demons in a post-apocalyptic world
- Slow burns
- Excellent world building
- MF and MM relationships, great queer-normative world building
- Characters you will fall in love with
‌
Then you have got to get on this trilogy. I’m so glad I discovered this author this year!
‌
You definitely need to read these books in order, as they build off one another and you won’t understand this one on its own.
‌
This book alternates between Bryony/Michael and Ash/Chuy, and I gotta say - Ash and Chuy’s love story just stole the whole show for me. They were so swoony together, and I loved both of their insecurities and how they approached and overcame them, how doting and patient Ash was, how open and honest and all-in Chuy was. My gosh, I just adored these two together! I love the total redemption for Ash from what he did at the beginning to now.
‌
Bryony’s story focused more on Sama - the angel of death, and Michael’s father. I loved her tentative, unsure path to forming a relationship with him, and proving that he wasn’t just the bad guy here.
‌
And of course, I adore the found family aspects to this series. Between the pirates and Bryony winning over angels and demons left and right lol, this group has grown so much since the first book and I absolutely love it.
‌
Please let me know if you’ve read this series or what you think of it after you have!
‌
[ID: There are 3 books placed flat from the lower right to top left, surrounded by purple flowers and fluff. Next slide shows my hand holding how one book arrived wrapped, and then my hand is holding all 3 books together.]

••• BOOK REVIEW

𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: The Evolution of Angels
𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫: Isobel Lynn
𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: A Tyranny of Angels, book 3

❔ ~ ᴡʜᴀᴛ’ꜱ ᴀ ʙᴏᴏᴋ ꜱᴇʀɪᴇꜱ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ʀᴇᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴅ?

I have no words to express my love for the characters in this series. Like, every single one of them! And every time I get back to the series, I fall even more in love with them. This series is literally the best found family vibe you’ll ever get. THE BEST, period. These characters grow on you, and you just want to be part of it all, like adopt me please. The banter between everyone is not only perfection but also so endearing and you can tell that, through it all, they care about one another even though some of them struggle with showing it (you know who you are).

I don’t want to spoil anything since this is book 3, but let me just say that the love story in this one was the love story I didn’t know I was craving. IT WAS SO GOOD. The forced proximity, the contrast between the two, the tension, the way one of them was fighting it and the other was so easy going and chill. There was just something immensely beautiful and satisfying about it.

This series has officially made it to my top 5 favorite series of all-time. It’s one of those series that I want to instantly go back to and highlight every two sentences in the books. Isobel Lynn writes characters with so much depth, she creates the most heartwarming interactions, she’s able to build a wonderful world that is easy to navigate with such cozy atmosphere even though there is a good mix of action and slower warming moments in the story and she’s honestly the Queen of the found family trope.

I beg you all to go read this series, the books only get better and better. I could read about these characters all year long and be happy!

Forever grateful to the author for sending me a copy of the book T.T and also letting me spam her a bit with some reactions through my read. Meant the world to me.

All opinions are my own.
