Skeleton does not define you. You define skeleton. Now it’s my turn to live by those words.

After 15 years, I’ve made the difficult decision to retire from the sport that has given me so much.

When I first moved to Whistler, I was lost, confused, and searching for direction. I never could have imagined that a sport I had never tried before would take me around the world, help me find myself, and shape the person I’ve become today.

Skeleton gave me more than races, results, and three Olympic Games. It gave me purpose. It gave me lifelong friendships, unforgettable experiences, and a family. It taught me resilience, grit, and how to trust myself in some of the most challenging moments of my life.

What I’m most proud of isn’t any one result. It’s the journey. It’s the lessons learned, the obstacles overcome, and proving to myself that I was stronger than I ever thought possible. It’s also having the opportunity to help rebuild a program I care deeply about and watching it grow into something stronger than ever before.

Walking away is incredibly hard because skeleton has been such a huge part of my life for so long. But I leave knowing the future of Canadian Skeleton is bright. The program is in a great place, and it’s time for the next generation to step forward and write their own story.

To every coach, teammate, support staff member, volunteer, sponsor, friend, family member, and fan who has been part of this journey—thank you. Through the highs and the lows, through the victories and the setbacks, your support carried me further than you will ever know. Whether it was loud or quiet, near or far, I felt it every step of the way.

Thank you for helping me live a dream that was bigger than I ever imagined.

It’s been one incredible ride, and I wouldn’t have written the story any other way.

One of the most respected athletes in the history of the Canadian Skeleton program, Jane Channell, has announced her retirement from the sport, bringing to a close an extraordinary career that spanned more than a decade at the highest levels of international competition.

A three-time Olympian, four-time World Cup medallist, Crystal Globe winner, and a cornerstone of Canada’s national skeleton program. Beyond her competitive accomplishments, she leaves behind a legacy defined by leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to helping elevate the next generation of Canadian athletes.

Congratulations, Jane, on an incredible career. We wish you all the best in the next chapter!

Having to leave the village early means missing cheering on Team Canada, closing ceremonies and more. To the very next day, going straight into the office for work. It’s a good thing I love my career, coworkers and work.

🎃🍂 Pumpkin spice season, but make it protein-packed!

This has been my go-to breakfast smoothie lately! 🤎 It’s creamy, delicious, packed with protein, and gives me all the cozy fall flavours while helping me fuel my mornings.

✨ Pumpkin Pie Protein Smoothie

🎃 150g canned pumpkin purée
🥣 115g Oikos 0% Greek yogurt
💪 1 scoop PVL CAN Whey Vanilla
🍌 1 medium banana
🍂 ¼ tsp pumpkin spice
🤎 A dash of cinnamon
💧 A splash of water or your milk of choice

Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Macros per smoothie:
🔥 ~350 calories
💪 ~37g protein
🍌 ~54g carbs
🥑 ~3g fat
🌾 ~8g fibre
