Even through challenges, there is so much to be grateful for.

Here's some of the first things that come to mind when I think of what I'm grateful for. A few more definitely include the sponsors that make it possible for me to chase my dreams!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

One year later, and CAN-WHEY already feels like an old friend. ❤️

We’re proud of how far CAN-WHEY has come, but even more grateful to everyone who welcomed us into their routines and came along for the ride.

One year down, and we’re only getting started.
Nice, eh? 🇨🇦

Skeleton is such an amazing sport and I'm so glad it's now a part of my life. This is my first ever run in a competition against Team Canada Skeleton. This was such an amazing experience and thank you to everyone who made it happen.

Thank you @rbctrainingground and @bobsleighcanskeleton

Calgary Skeleton Push camp trip of August 4th-10th (my first time traveling alone btw, lwk very fun). I wish I had videos or pictures of me pushing but oh well. Maybe I'll have some next time (Whistler perhaps?). Despite going to the camp, I'm sadly not eligible to continue with RBC training grounds this year since I am way too broke to drop another $1500 on the driving school within the span of 3 days since being back.

I do think I'll try to continue training in this amazing sport though so I definitely want to thank everyone at @bobsleighcanskeleton for introducing all of us recruits to the amazing sport of skeleton and to all the coaches who pushed us to improve and supported us throughout the 5 days of camp. And of course, thank you to @rbctrainingground for the amazing opportunity once more.

Jane Channell has announced her retirement from skeleton after 15 years in a sport that demands throwing yourself head-first down the ice at speeds close to 140 kilometres per hour. The Canadian, an Olympian at PyeongChang, Beijing and Milano Cortina, steps away at the age of 37 with four World Cup medals, a bronze Crystal Globe, a world silver medal in the team event and an influence that went far beyond results within Canada’s national programme.

“To be inside a highly physically demanding sport for 15 years is a long time and I feel like now is the right time to move on,” Channell said in a statement released by Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton. The decision, like many retirements, was complex and carefully considered. “Skeleton is my family. That is why it is so difficult to step away and why it has taken me so long to come to terms with this decision. The community that the Canadian programme has right now is unique. Through all the ups and downs, and with all the support I have received, both loud and quiet, it has been an unforgettable ride,” she added.

Resiliency, generosity, and strength- the first few things that come to mind when I think of Jane. An incredible career, but more importantly, an indescribable impact off the ice. Ive had the honor to call Jane a teammate, friend and mentor. As she announces her retirement, I look back on some of the best memories in my camera roll to show the world just how much we are gonna miss on tour without her. Thank you Jane, from the bottom of my heart, for always being you, showing up, and setting the best example of a leader for me to learn from. Skeleton in Canada is lucky to have you in its legacy 🇨🇦❤️

Recap on a crazy and fun week last week in Ottawa and Montreal:

• Reconnecting with the Milano Cortina Olympic Team for our post-Games Celebration & getting to meet Prime Minister Mark Carney
• Hanging out with the work bestie, Annie
• Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and hearing from athletes and organizers involved
• Seeing the museum installation dedicated to the 1976 Games (peep the awesome clothes that the volunteers got to wear!)
• Officially being elected to the Athlete's Commission and in the role of First Officer

I feel super blessed to have these experiences. Can't wait for many more to come!

My camera roll from the Team Canada celebration at parliament 😍➡️

It was an honour of a lifetime to be recognized with Team Canada at our country's capital. Shaking hands with some of the incredible people that support us and are changing the game for sport in Canada was surreal. Thank you for having us Mr. Prime Minister.
