I ask God first. Before I ask AI.

Most lenders can tell you what they do. Fewer can tell you how. Almost none can articulate why and that gap is costing the industry more than bad UX ever could.

I spent years as a mortgage broker watching a pattern repeat: borrowers treated as transactions, not relationships. Lenders who genuinely cared, stuck with tools that only let them react after the fact never before it.

That's not a tooling problem. It's a why problem.

Stikkum exists because borrowers deserve to be understood before they're at risk, not managed after they've left. So we built what the broker's seat taught me lenders actually needed: a system that reads borrower behavior across 80,000+mortgage and financial sites daily and surfaces intent before it becomes a payoff request.

The platform is the proof. The why is the point.

Most companies optimize what they do and never ask why anyone should care. We started with why. Everything else the data, the timing, the retention lift followed from there.

When I started out, I thought my job was having all the answers.

Turns out, the real job is just staying curious enough to keep finding better ones.

Rates change. Tools evolve. Half of what I know cold today will be outdated in a few years. I used to find that unsettling—now I think it’s the whole point.

The people I respect most aren't the ones who knew everything on day one. They're the ones who never stopped learning.

Still a work in progress. Planning on keeping it that way.

Ownership matters. Vision matters. Risk matters.

But none of it lasts without integrity.

The leaders we remember challenged the room, raised the standard, and kept going when it would have been easier to stop.

That is the kind of leadership worth building around.

Every mortgage CRM and servicing platform has the same blind spot: They only know what a borrower does inside their system.

They have zero visibility the moment the borrower starts shopping elsewhere. That gap—the silence between "current" and "gone"—is where EPO and recapture losses actually live.

If you're building or reselling into the servicer, CUSO, or lender space, helping clients spot borrowers at risk isn't a hypothetical. It’s a build-vs-partner decision sitting on your roadmap right now.
