got my degree in three because i do things on my own time 🎓💚🧡
(just like posting my graduation pictures)

fam-u, fam-u, i love thee 🐍🧡
an appreciation letter to the school that shaped me and all those who supported me:

thank you for the most amazing three years. my time spent at college has been an emotional rollercoaster and i’ve learned so much about myself and who I want to be.

thank you to my family who motivated me across states and countries 🇯🇲 to keep going, the friends i’ve made along the way who forced me out of my shell and made every day worth it, the professors who saw something in me, my peers, e-board members, classmates and coworkers who watched me grow as a student and creator, and all the other graduates who deserve this just as much as I do.

I also want to thank my roommate Jordan🌻 for carrying me through my hardest moments. having you on this journey (double entendre) with me has meant more to me than I can describe and I don’t know what I would do without you. I am so proud of you. Of us!

Now that the summer is officially over, I want to express how grateful I am to have had one of my most positive and impactful experiences so far: my summer internship with @abcnews .

The time I spent as a production intern with ABC News’ late night program @nightline (and their streaming segment Impact x Nightline) was an opportunity that I will never forget.

I had the chance to work with an incredible team of journalists in the industry, utilize my journalistic experience, and challenge myself.

I am so grateful to FAMU, Disney, ABC, and ABC News President Kim Godwin for this opportunity, as well as all of the producers, seniors, execs, APs, anchors, PAs, and fellow interns at Nightline for taking me in and teaching me as much as they could within the ten weeks that I was with them.

I worked on a number of stories, went on both hard news and entertainment shoots, received my first (and second) byline, and watched the magic happen behind the scenes of a program that I had the utmost respect for before stepping into my position.

I gained a better understanding of what I want to do in the future and made so many connections that I will use to push through my final year of college and aid me in my future.

Forever thankful. #oneabcnews #abcnightline #abcintern #famusjgc taken in Manhattan, New York by @jaadenz_b
