Just want to say I do private music tuition. (Have been for a little while)

As the poster says anyone is welcome. The first lesson is free, I teach in a private studio 1 to 1 with professional gear and equipment. All ages and abilities are welcome. I am able to do online lessons too if needed.

The song you hear in the background is @cathalmurphy_music "gets me by" which is also my drumming 😂 by @jack_0rourke

Chasing that modern funk drum sound! 💥

I used @butcherbrown s "Cabbage (DFC)" to challenge myself to record/mix a killer, punchy groove completely from scratch.

The recipe for this sound:
🛠️ Tuning the kit low and dry
🥁 Dialing in a piccolo snare for that perfect crack
🥞 Stacking cymbals for that fast, trashy bite
🎚️ Mic placement & mixing to make the pocket sit just right

No re-sampling or triggering was used here. I wanted to challenge myself to create a completely organic, authentic recording.

Shoutout @coreyfonville 🔥 The vibe and sound he gets on the original track and @djharrisonrva , It was incredibly fun researching his process and trying to do it justice!

📥 DM me for remote session work! I absolutely love collaborating.

Found this tune scrolling through @perception.records the other day. 🔒🎧

Tune is called "Move It Back" by @halletomlinson . It's such a groovy track, been listening to it all week! Really fun figuring out how to play it.

A student brought in "Khat" by @navjot_ahuja , so I put together a quick breakdown to help them tackle it. Love getting stepped outside my usual genre to discover gems like this.

Challenged myself to get that classic 60/70s funk sound on the drums. I did a lot of research, dug out the piccolo snare and recorded and mixed till I was happy. Played along the alternative version of "Feel good". Enjoy.
