A much deserved THANK YOU to @original_fuechtner_nussknacker for allowing me into your life to make this film. I feel quite lucky to have met you and to be able to tell your story.

Another big THANK YOU to @marschkellow for composing the film’s soundtrack. Sincerely could not have done it without you. To many more!

Meet Jack Raese, director of “The Chimney Sweeper”. The short film follows Markus Füchtner — whose great-great-great-grandfather invented the Nutcracker — as he continues a 150-year-old family tradition, making nutcrackers under the same roof as his forefathers. The film captures the unique bond between father and son, shaped by generations of expectations and craftsmanship. 🎄

Watch “The Chimney Sweeper” at the 2026 #SundanceFilmFestival (Jan 22–Feb 1) or online starting Jan 29. Visit festival.sundance.org for more information. by @jack_raese
